Just found this old flyer while for the Nintendo Space World '97 while lurking the Japanese interwebs. Picture is from Tumblr because I found a higher-resolution copy there. Can anyone translate the basic content of it?

Most interesting part is that they will give out Mew to 100,000 people.
Back in the day, event Pokemon came on special event versions of normal Pokemon carts that came pre-loaded with a certain number of the event Pokemon, and you had trade one of your own Pokemon with the event mon on the cart.
Thus, any event would always have a limited number of Pokemon to give out.

Essentially "We are not responsible for any damage done to your game through "special operations" performed to encounter Mew, raising levels, etc."
It then mentions that there is no legitimate way to encounter Mew, it can only be received via official events.
