Anyone complaining about them possibly getting evolutions is just being melodramatic. Even if their evolutions are terrible they're both defensive pokemon that would love to use Eviolite.

That could work I guess. Metal coat is my favourite method of evolving a pokemon, perhaps they could bring in a new, similar item in gen 6 (preferably another type, too many bug/steel types otherwise)

mantyke (same stat spread but specially oriented) and onix (less hp more defense more speed) aren't banned.

Its typing would be great but I doubt it'd be enough to get it banned.

Gligar has a good ability (Immunity, and Sand Veil before it was banned) and would have the second highest BST in LC (after Misdreavus) and a much better typing.

The pre-evo would probably be Normal/Flying since it's [Soul] Silver pokedex entry implies they don't start out as armor plated bird.

Ponyta has the highest BST, and steel/flying is better than gligar's typing. Steel is a built in immunity to poison anyway

It was bad before team preview.

Electivire is slow as dirt, and even if it gets a Motor Drive boost, it still can't hit hard enough.
