Am I the only person who really hopes that they don't let anyone transfer any Pokemon from any of the previous games to X and Y purely so everyone has to start over and can't keep reusing their powerful Pokemon competitively?

It'll be more interesting! And because no Action Replay or Pokegen will exist for Gen 6, there will be a bunch of Pokemon that can't be obtained yet so there will be rare Pokemon again! It'll be like Gen 3 again.

Realizing I couldn't transfer all of my Pokemon that I had worked on for literally years to Gen 3 was the worst moment of my life. I had all 6 previous games, as well as both Stadiums filled to the brim with the best Pokemon you would have ever seen. I used to go to the mall when the Mew event came around and play the guy's with the download cartridges. I fucking invented the "Deathstar" Starmie set as far as I know. I don't want to go through that again.

Stop saying this. There is nothing stopping them from retconning those things AND including generation transfer. Magnemite and Magneton could transfer to Gen 2 AND BACK despite steel type not existing in Gen 1. There have been ability retcons, and no I'm not talking about DW abilities. Pinsir got Mold Breaker in Gen 4 for example. There are no stat retcons to my knowledge, but that's purely GF's choice, absolutely nothing prevents them from doing it.

We still can't fake events despite how long the 4th and 5th gen has been out because they've tried pretty hard to keep that shit locked down.

The 5th gen was great, but they didn't put much effort into making new and exciting things with it. Just polished up the old stuff.

Wouldn't have been worth the effort to create an entirely new GTS system for them.

But if they're closing it off to old pokemon specifically to stop hackers?(Or for money)

I think what he means is an overhaul of the EV/IV system or a major change in the way stats work that would render transferring either extremely difficult or impossible.

I am not against such a change if it worked well, but it would still be devastating to me that my large collection of pokemon would not be able to make it in to the very first 3D pokemon game.

i wouldn't actually mind it because it would give them a chance to make drastic changes to the game mechanics

plus it means stealth rock is gone from the metagame (unless it is a tm again or if xy has move tutors) for at least a while

I'm cool with this. OR they need to change the system so you can transfer 100 pokemon at a time. It's kinda BS they push you to collect all 600+ only to allow you to transfer them between games 1 or 6 at a time.
