>>11743550Eh, Rescue Team kind of makes sense.
You don't remember anything of your human life. So, deciding you don't want to go back makes sense. At that moment, all you know is your time as a Pokemon. For all you know, your life as a human really sucked. As a Pokemon though, you had a good life and a close friend. I think a lot of people might have wanted to stay in that situation. Meanwhile, in Gates, while in the same situation, the player seems to actually remember their past. So, they have a real reason to want to go back. And for further Gates spoilers, of course, then you can have the partner be selfish and bring you back to the world of Pokemon. But at the same time you can have them be selfless and let you go on with your life.Explorers though just
making you come back because your partner becomes depressed and then Arceus just makes it happen really just feels like an asspull. Like the last episode of Kamen Rider Double,
the episode prior the main character's partner sacrifices himself to stop the final villain, and the main character goes on to protect the city by himself. Then the last episode, taking place a year later, the partner's sister sacrifices herself to bring him back in some attempt at redemption, and it just feels really forced and unneeded.
