Typhlosion is the plainest, and most mammalian Fire starter in the game. I don't see why Normal is out of the question. It would give it some uniqueness.

Typh' doesn't get an advantage out of it in any way. Neither does Mienshao. Giving them shitty typings just because it fits 'looks' isn't a good idea.

So what's beneficial to the pokemon decides whattype it's get? Why not give everything psychic/dark then? Charazard would have been better with fire/dragon, but he doesn't LOOK like a dragon so they give a more appropriate secondary type.
