>>11747508>Gamefreak has been special casing sound moves for the past few gens for things like the soundproof ability. The soundproof ability has been around for THREE generations, that's over half, without there being a sound type. Why the fuck would they start now? They introduce "sound" based Pokemon every generation since then: Exploud, Chatot and Meloetta, and yet not ONCE did they decide to make a sound type. Why would you assume that NOW they'd think of including it, if they perpetually don't? It's as if you think they have to reach some kind of critical mass before they can introduce new types, but that doesn't make any fucking sense. It's like saying "Oh I knew there was going to be Dark and Steel types in gen 2 because so many of Gen 1's Pokemon and moves could be Dark or Steel type"... You're making some connection which doesn't exist.
>And finally, they must have realized that moves such as hypervoice really don't make sense as a normal-type move.To YOU because you already assume there will be a sound type. Normal is constantly used as a stand in for "neutral:" when something doesn't really fit other types. Porygon is a digital being brought to life, Clefairy is a fairy from the moon and Rattata is a rat. None of those things have anything in common, yet its understood that they are all "normal" because it is neutral. It only "doesn't make sense" from your biased perspective.
