So, /vp/, I heard in quite a few threads that soloing R/B/G with Blastoise is easymode and can be done in a matter of hours. I have nothing to do tomorrow between 8 am and 5 pm. Is this a credible fact that blastoise soloing is the only way to go?

You can easily do it with blastoise. If you go to speeddemosarchive they have a whole stream of someone doing it completely solo with Blastoise.

Apparently, the standing record at 1 hour 58 minutes only used a Squirtle-Wartortle-Blastoise and either a Pidgey or a Spearow for fly.

I solo'd Red version with a Blastoise in 3:45 on a gameboy. I can only imagine the time on Dodrio Gameboy (Stadium).

It's pretty easy. Surf and Icebeam are key, and teach it other moves for coverage like Body Slam and EQ or something.

Catch the first spearow you see. Trade it for Farfetch'd for your cut/fly HM slave.

When you get to Celadon, buy like 30x XSpeeds, XSpecials, and XAttacks. These should last you till the end of the game.

That's pretty much it, aside from a Strength HM slave. Isn't hard to find something for that.
