I just got an idea from this picture.. What if one of Ash's traveling companions was a younger version of nurse joy, who is aspiring to be a nurse. But on her journey with Ash, she meets people and pokemon that sway her in a different direction. At the end of her adventures with Ash she changes her hair style and decides to be something different. The lesson here is to do what you want with your life, not what you feel pressured into doing.
