Dear /vp/, I'm going to be travelling soon and have decided to pick up a Pokemon game to play during my down time.

Which game, for Nintendo DS, would you recommend?

I haven't played a Pokemon game seriously since Ruby/Sapphire days. I think I played Leaf Green a bit, but nowhere the same as I did gen 3. I was very big into it back then, and I'd like to get into it again. I pretty much haven't touched the DS games.

If you feel nostalgic, Heart Gold/Soul Silver will give you plenty of time on it.

On the other side, you also have Black and White. Go with 2 as you only need to read up the spoiler on 1.

HG/SS OP, they are so great. You'll enjoy it more than any of the newer games I think.
Then again... if you want a "whole new game" (assuming you played original Gold and Silver). Go for platinum. I personally didn't enjoy B/W too much.

I did play the original gold/silver. I very much enjoyed Crystal, as well, but if I recall correctly all of my gen 2 games were melted in the sun inside of the family car.

The general consensus seems to be HG/SS, and Platinum. Thank you friends, I will look into them.
