Add Swablu, Machop (Machoke is great even without evolution) and whismur, and you'll have an actual decent team. And three grass types at the flying gym? What are you thinking? (Especially Breloom, her whole team knows aerial ace. That's an OHKO and he can't OHKO any of them first unless they are low hp. I got cocky as I beat Flanery with 3 grass types. Plus adding in that all my mons were lvl 40 and I've never really had any trouble with Altaria in past Emerald nuzlockes.

And I'm absolutely not using Whismur. Those fuckers never live past level 30 every time I've used one.

My biggest mistake was I was playing with the speed increased so I didn't catch that she was sending out Altaria next. I thought she was sending out Skarmory.

I tried a Nuzlocke run on Emerald. I replaced Torchic with a Poochyena and named her Challenger, then caught a Zigzagoon and called her Connie, then caught a Wurmple and named him Imago, then caught a Whismur and named him Larrynx. I'm gonna lose if I fight Roxanne, so my question is this:

If the first Pokèmon I see on a route is a duplicate, can I keep looking until I find a new Pokèmon, or do I get nothing from that particular route?

Where's the challenge and thrill bar the rare critical hit, which even at those levels wouldn't be enough to get a KO on anything? Any decent nuzlocke sets level limits on certain areas. Because I think it's stupid to over level your pokemon so you can remove what little challenge the nuzlocke provides? Yikes, you're a bit underleveled. I would recommend training up against the team rocket goons in Mahogany town, or even just training in mount mortar. The pokes inside are weak and are good experience at the same time.

The challenge was in not losing another 'mon after 2 complete wipes. Which wasn't easy.

You can hate on it and shout out >rules but to me those rules are a means to an end (which I followed anyway, fuck you). They're a means to create greater interest and bonds (yes Karenfag reporting) with your Pokemon, and to get you to train Pokes you never would have otherwise.

Which is exactly what I did. Yes, I used Starmie over a Chandelure because it was something I'd never done before. To me, it's you who is completely missing the point.

You talk about challenge, but you really only want a certain kind of challenge. You hate grinding, but you'd be fine taking an OU poke over a NU one if it balanced the team better and made the run easier for you. What's good challenge, what's bad challenge? Should I ban Lucky Eggs, or should I ban Gen V since there's too much XP?

I enjoyed it, I followed the rules I started with (and most people play with), it was rewarding, it created memories and bros with Pokes I'd never have used. Haters gonna' hate.

I may do a sorta nuzlocke of Colosseum. sorta because I can't really follow that 1 catch per route rule but I will still follow these rules.

Faint = Dead
If I fail to snag a shadow pokemon I can never catch it even if I can rematch him in the main story.

something i like to do while doing randomized versions is to write down a log of pokemon i see like an actual pokedex, and try and guess what elemental type the pokemon is by seeing what moves it uses. idk i might be autistic that way but i think its really fun

Yeah Dolphin is nice. You need a really good rig if you want to have no slowdown. Colosseum does have some issues though. The background sounds will sometimes stop and the music can go out randomly

Just starting my crystal nuzlocke which has been randomized. Has choice of Dragonair, Miltank or Persian for starter so i went with Miltank. Plan on updating 3 times between each badge, with the training situation. Rules I am playing by:

>First pokemon on the route; No Duplicates
>No healing in Pokemon Centers
>If pokemon faints, release it ASAP.
>Nickname all pokemon
>No Boxed pokemon, team only

I want a new game to Nuzlocke.Preferably a hack since I Nuzlocked FR/LG,Platinum,White,Moemon Eternal,Liquid Crystal,Flora Sky,and Emerald.

Bloody platinum is pretty good.
raises difficulty a fair bit, but it's not unfair.
All pokemon are available (through gen 4 of course)
grinding is a bit easier since there is a lot of variety in pokemon.
Beware of pineco on route 204, their only move seems to be self destruct.
run for your life when you see one.

Something weird was happening in my randomizer
Even though some wild pokes were randomized I almost always ran into bidoof and criketot in all the early routes
This was enough of a problem for me to have to pick another game

It was a normal wild battle, we were in a new area, so we were scoping out the new opponents. Koumori just finished most of Whitney's gym, and he felt that he was going to change soon, be more powerful.
A wild stantler, a new pokemon from the area. Koumori used his supersonic to 'see' the new pokemon, but the antlers confused him, and while trying to understand them, stantler put Koumori to sleep with his abilities.

Zubat fell to the ground, dozing off.
"Koumori" i would yell it "Get up! He's going after you!" the wild stantler was already on Koumori before i could reach for my pokeballs. Stantler's hooves came down hard on Koumori, while he blissfully slept. It was only one stomp for me to know it was over for koumori.. he went quietly, without a word, in his sleep.

koumori knew he was going to change for the better soon, he told me i made him that way. I'm just sorry i couldn't protect him till he found out his true potential.

After months of ignoring my Plat Nuzlocke out of fear of Candice sweep, I decided to pick it back up.

Ended up sweeping almost singlehandedly with Umbreon. God Umbreon is the best Nuzlocke Pokémon. I even bought Flamethrower for Octillery and only ended up using it to take the last 10 HP off her Piloswine because I wanted to feel like I spent the money for a good reason.

Hey guys, I have an idea if anyone is interested.
If anyone was planning on doing a nuzlocke of leafgreen or fire red, we could organize a team on Pokemmo.

Welp. I thought I'd finally complete a Nuzlocke but I've lost half my team in one day. About to go up against the E4 in Crystal with only Feraligatr, Noctowl, and Umbreon. Nothing I have in by boxes is worth spending another day grinding up to the same level, so I'm just gonna say fuck it and try with what I have. I'll grind them up to level 50 and then head in. If I fail (I will) I think I'm going to do another (non-Nuzlocke) run; this is my first time playing Crystal in over a decade, and it was a lot more fun than I thought it would be.
