While I don't care much for baby pokemon, Gen 2 introduced some of the best cross-generation evolutions (Scizor, Steelix, Crobat, Espeon, Umbreon).

Dunsparce should get a metal coat evolution in gen 6 (it'd be a solid snake!)

What did else did you expect from Kanto? It isn't like Gen I where Team Rocket was trying to take over the region. It was meant to be an extra challenge post game, much like how the Battle Frontiers were and how they didn't have much of a huge role in the story after the main game.

No, it doesn't.

The point of a reboot is to re-focus on what's best in a series and center on what makes it work. Nothing about Gen2 was the best-in-series; it mostly just fixed what was completely broken, re-hashed the plot, and added a few cool pokemon.

What you can expect from the game after a reboot is just more stuff. A double-region like gen2 is possible, as is a large number of new pokemon (unlike gen2).

Also, gen5 was the first gen without a fundamental mechanics change. They're probably satisfied with those.

Looking at how different the overworld looks to past games and GF's constant hyping of a new "bonding system" it looks pretty likely that we're finally saying goodbye to the RSE engine. They better have learned from last time in regards transferring Pokémon to the new one

As BW felt analogous to RB,

I personally felt that BW2 felt analogous to RS.

I can't particularly put my finger as to why though... It's the atmosphere I guess, as well as some of the new locales in BW2 Unova that remind me of Gen III.

That and the BW2 Protagonists give me a similar vibe to the RS ones.

Because in theory it should've evolved into Lickilicky, but it didn't because it didn't exist yet. Despite this, the option was still there.

Shoulda rebooted away the goddamn gym-driven gameplay structure, at this point it's nothing but a timewaste.

In R/B it made sense, since the whole "Team Rocket" thing was essentially a side-quest and was just weak in general.

Team Plasma is an interesting story, why is it punctuated with all that filler "gym" shit? Fuck, what's up with having 7 sages and not just replacing the gym leaders as bosses with the sages?

It's almost like they wanted to do that and then chickened out, really.

I'm prety sure Gen 6 will focus more on Gen 3 evolutions, and Gen 5 in second place. Normally I'd say Gen 4, but turns out Sinnoh has a very limited amount of sinnoh-exclusive lines, and discouting gimmick stuff like Pachirisu, 3 stages evos, and some 2 stage evos, I doubt they can pull off many evos from it
