Unova gave us the best yet, since it had the most areas and the most diverse postgame content (not counting Generation 2 in this because Kanto was an extended main adventure, not a postgame), but it was only making up for the way Pokémon games have lacked postgame content in the past aside from Battle Frontiers.

The Safari Zone was pure evil: take away the gameplay formula that the player has used up until then, and replace it with basically every Pokémon being an untrackable roamer. See a rare Pokémon that you want to catch? Too bad, it runs off out of breaking out of the first Ball that you throw at it! And the Balls were only the strength of normal Poké Balls, too... The whole thing was just utterly sadistic.
