When I was 12 and my brother was 7, we played the pokemon Ruby and Sapphire games together.

I'd been playing pokemon since Red/Blue, but this was his first one.

It really helped us out at a rough time. Our parents had just divorced and our father committed suicide.


He traded me his Kyogre the day before he left for school.
He died on the playground of a previously unknown heart condition that day.

I still have that piece of data to this day. My favorite pokemon and the only Kyogre I've had the heart to own.
