It's not that bad of an idea; Zangoose fingers are sort of like human fingers, but with the "fingernail" starting at the knuckle and the fingers ending shortly after the knuckle. As for trimming them, you'd have to literally get down to the bases of their claws to hurt anything other than their pride.
You might want to try dulling your Zangoose's claws a bit, and working on their more common issues while it won't cause actual damage. Personally, I leave my Zangoose to her own will when it comes to her claws; I kept her from sharpening her claws too much when she was younger, and she's used to getting around the house with them.
