As you know, gym leaders have names that have puns related to their pokemon type but some are harder to decipher.
Can /vp/ help me figure out the puns in:

Erika (Grass)
Koga (Poison)
Blaine (Fire)
Falkner (Flying)
Flannery (Fire)
Winona (Flying)
Tate & Liza (Psychic)
Wallace (Water)
Juan (Water)
Maylene (Fighting)
Fantina (Ghost)
Cheren (Normal)
Lenora (Normal)
Iris (Dragon)
Marlon (Water)

Falkner is falcon.
Flannery, also derived from flames presumably.
Winona is wind.
Tate and Liza - LizaTate - Levitate. Would have been far better with a pair of male twins named Tate and Levi.
Wallace and Juan, both start with "WA", water.
Maylene is melee.
Fantina is phantom.
Cheren is just his name.
Lenora, nora-mal.
Iris, probably just her name.
Marlon, marlin is a kind of fish, or marine.

Here they're called Lévy and Tatia. Works much better for the pun.

Cheren - Name means black for pokemon black while Bianca means white for pokemon white. He originally wasn't supposed to be a gym leader.
Lenora - The word normal rearranged.
Iris - From Latin "Ira" meaning anger or wrath since Dragons outrage all the time.
Marlon - From the Marlin fish.
