Torterra gets Chlorophyll as its hidden ability.

Yes, its DW ability is Lightningrod, which is truly excellent on a Pokemon like Zapdos. But Volt Absorb would let Zapdos be a little more defensively oriented and would let it differentiate itself from Thundurus-Therian. As a bonus, STAB Hurricane works beautifully with STAB Thunder (in the rain).

Definitely not. It's frail enough that the three best priority move users in OU (BP Scizor, Techloom, Ice Shard Mamo) can take it down after stealth rock damage if it's not running a bulky set, and if it is running a bulky set, then it loses attack

Iron Fist and Shift Gear.

With Iron Fist alone, a banded Metagross always 2HKOs 252HP/252Def+ Slowbro or Skarmory holding Leftovers. That's how much power it packs with a simple ability. Now imagine if he had both Iron Fist and Gear Shift. He'd be Uber even with that shitty coverage.

Absolutely not.

All it would need is something that's not defeatist. There are top players that use the thing as is to success in UBERS of all places in its current state. Unnerve would be enough to put the thing in OU.

What the fuck? Yeah the power creep and a lack of recovery option did that to him but if you give him something like Dry Skin/Water Absorb or even Sap Sipper to negate his only weakness, he has a lot of good resistances to make good use of in OU.

Balance mostly though there's no one really with Solar Power who can abuse the ability to a point where the HP recoil balances it out aside from Charizard of all Pokemon, the latter is a really good ability and its balanced with its ass of an distribution on Cherrim.

Safeguard will protect it from the 1HKO burn/poison/confusion. The other two moves will allow Shedinja to turn itself into a less damning type.

In double and triple battles, this would no doubt be uber due to how easy it would be to turn Shedinja into a Dark/Ghost-type.
