I figured Waterfall and Ice shard would be a cool idea. I already have a modest lapras and this is a clone of the one you find in Union Cave on Fridays. I also had curse on a different lapras but this one has waterfall, ice shard, body slam, and confuse ray.

It's like Physical Gengar I guess. I would never use it competitively but it's my first time EV training so I thought I'd give it a try and make sure I'm doing it right before I waste my time on doing something serious

No it was my first time so I was only focusing on EVs but once I get this shit down I'll get to doing IVs as well.
I read the serebii thing on EVing and it said for attack to battle Goldeen/Seaking, and I was confused as to whether or not I needed to get to the next level by battling these or do I just need to battle them 252 times which makes more sense obv because I can't reach level 253 but I wasn't sure if I was just interpereting it wrong?

Lapras's speed is terrible, so the speed boost from Dragon Dance may not be too helpful. Curse may be slightly better since it boosts defense as well. Lowering your speed ensures Avalanche hits for maximum damage. Or you can opt for priority Ice Shard to hit hard with curse.

EV training takes enough time that you may as well be dicking with IVs as well. It would suck to find out that you're EV training for a super low IV.

EV training is a cinch. Different pokemon reward points toward a certain stat (or two). Every four of those points translates to a +1 on the training pokemon's stat. Macho Brace (x2) and Power X (+4) held items change how many points you get. The same goes for the pokerus. Do the math to figure out how many you need to defeat to get to 252.

Yeah I think I'd rather go with the curse set but I accidentally put some EVs in speed by battling a diglet because I couldnt escape due to arena trap. I'll try again and run a Curse/Waterfall/body slam/avalanche set

or should i switch body slam for confuse ray

Power Bracer add +4 Atk EVs for every successful battle, so Goldeen (+1 Atk) and Power Bracer (+4 Atk) yields +5 Atk EVs every battle. The Pokerus doubles EV gains per battle. Your Lapras only needed to collect experience against 26 goldeens to max out.
