What if Sylveon is a female normal type evolution based on love, hence its release on Valentine's Day, and it has a male normal type counterpart released on Easter? The male will feature the stars seen in the Eevee and Friends logo as part of its design.

I've seen people say the stars are there to respresent Espeon, which I just don't see. I'm pretty sure the stars are just supposed to be cute. I wouldn't mind if Sylveon was a female only normal evolution, but jesus there's nothing I want less than a new type, let alone a love type.

I don't see the logic here. With the exception of Jolteon, every Eeveelution is just as feminine as Sylveon. Why would they suddenly decide that this one is just too feminine?

This. While it doesn't mean that Sylveon is the only new Eeveelution it does mean that we won't hear about the other one (if it exists) until just before release.

I'm still hoping Sylveon will be bug type and there will be another eeveelution in gen 6 that is flying type.

They're two of my favorite types, and it does fit well.

It would also fit the previous pattern of releasing two evos at once in which one is super effective against the other (psychic+dark, grass+ice)
