All I want is a game that changes the level-up movesets of pokemon, updates moves to gen 5 standard, has phys/special split (if gen 3), and puts in dream world abilities with an increased difficulty for all trainers, is that too much to ask?

You may still be adding challenge, but the catching and use of legendaries is something that 99/100 people say is against the spirit and rules of a nuzlocke challenge.

I just started a FR nuzlocke on my GBA a few days ago...

I've lost tons of Pokemon though. Right now my team is:
Stu the Ivysaur
Asp the Arbok
Ugg the Gyarados
Bro the Golbat

My most recent casualties were Pid my Pidgeotto who was kicking ass with Secret Power, Dug the Diglett who was so close to being a Dugtrio, and Gigawatt the Voltorb. When Pid died, ny Stu-Pic combo went out the window, and Asp is my best one right now... So much poison in FR and Gyarados is the only one susceptible.

I just picked up the Eevee in Celadon, haven't decided what to do with it yet. I'm thinking Vaporeon for Blaine later, but Jolteon might be good... Too bad Eeveelution movesets suck in FR/LG.

You have a shitload of poison types, so Sabrina and Giovanni could give you some trouble.
There's no crobat in FR/LG until you get the national dex, so you can't rely on him for fly.

Evolve eevee to jolteon, vaporeon isn't needed since you have a gyarados.

Are you using the dupes clause or any other additional rules?

Actually, he should have chosen what he wanted, since it's his game, his nuzlocke and his choice of starters.
And by that logic, if a Rayquaza was the first pokemon I encountered on a route, I shouldn't catch it because it's a legendary. Then I should go a whole route without a capture.
using a WATER type Groudon, with possibly randomized stats isn't against any rules.
The Rules of a Nuzlocke are
Catch the first pokemon on a route
and if a pokemon faints, you release it.
Thats it.
You're free to not use legendaries, and most times you can't use a legendary anyway since you've aready encountered a pokemon in that area.
Other people, expecially those in randomlockes, can do what they like.
Your rules do not equal other people's rules.

Yeah and the Crobat thing sucks, I'm hoping for a Doduo on Cycling Road. And hopefully I can get a Gastly, the last time Cubone appeared first in Lavender... Gyarados can usually handle Giovanni and Sabrina.

well, stop flooding it with your choices if you don't want people to make discussion about it

Like I said, I know it's not a required rule, but 99/100 people use it because using legendaries in a challenge is like using an overpowered weapon in another game. Though there's nothing against it, it makes the game easier.

I agree with it in normal nuzlockes, but in ones where the states, types and abilities are random, it doesn't make sense to put that restriction on.

They are pretty high up there, Maylene's highest mon was level 39.
However, grinding isn't too bad, since you can encounter fully evolved pokemon pretty early, and they give loads of experience.
I'm really just a high level because it's a nuzlocke and my rival has a team that counters mine.

I really like this, though remember to say that Yet Another Fire Red Hack is really good (I might call it the best Fire Red Hack or Gen III hack). Say that there are new moves, new abilities, that there's an original 151 'dex with 'mons from all regions (so it's not a 386 hack), and say how great it is Did I already say that

Also, link to Desmume JIT and give the instructions on how to enhance the game's speed in the settings with it, as it's really the best emulator out there.

Got to goldenrod, and have all the fossils, my team is Tempz the mankey, nignog the eevee (accidently got the water stone at sprout tower, waiting to get either an audabe orb (espeon) or a thunderstone to evolve him), Derweze the Quilava, Takeshi the ninjask and a Shedinja (unnamed).

But Yet Another fire Red Hack has Physical/Special split.
That's the only gen 3 game i know of that has it.

As for Platinum, I don't think so. The closest you'll get is Perfect platinum or Platinum enhanced, which doesn't so much balance stats, but it balances it by changing what pokemon are available and when.

Liquid Crystal Nuzlocke.

It's pretty fun. Team so far. I'm in the Slowpoke Well right now. Used an Ultra Ball to get the Slowpoke because I was out of Pokeballs and didn't want to lose it. Hope there's a way to evolve it into Slowking in-game.

99 out of 100 people didn't make the rules for a nuzlocke.
Nuzlocke wasn't created with the idea of some sort of super challenge, it was created to make playing pokemon more interesting. The challenge part was just a byproduct.
Why do people read so much more into it than what it is?

Whenever I try to open Platinum Enhanced (or any .nds file) in the universal randomizer, it freezes for a while and then says no rom is loaded and lets me try to load another rom without any notice.
However, if I try to rename or move the .nds file I tried to load into randomizer, it says it's being used by the java application (randomizer), and randomizer makes a "tmp_(Game Name)" folder. What am I doing wrong?

Bagon, Dratini and Gible.
Before you freak out about saying they are overpowered, Dragonair has the base stats of Watchog.
Plus, in the beginning and through till probably just before the elite four, the damn things are piss weak. Their final forms are great, yeah, bt dragons are painful to level.
Might add a good challenge and a good incentive.

Just lost Soul Silver.
Didn't come near as close as I did on Platinum

After Morty's Gengar got a Crit Shadow Ball on KAZUMAAAAA the Quilava, the rest of my team didn't stand a chance from Gengar and it's Hypnosis + Shadow Ball.

With Patamon the Togepi killed from Silver's Croconaw, I lacked the needed defensive support he could have gave me. My last hope was to plow through with Quilava's sheer strength, but again, lolcrits.

Next up is White come Tuesday.

Anyway, What should I nuzlocke next? And what are all the variations of the nuzlocke formula? I did a platinum enhanced nuzlocke before this and succeeded, but am looking for omething fresh.

I already know of the Wed-locke, Rocke-locke and a virus inspired one (which I think is a bit meh)

Same Nuzlocke rules apply.
If you're on an emulator, than you can just randomly generate six pokemon to use, using codes to get them into your game.

I did a mystery egg 'locke on black and it was great.

Bagon is just such a pain to level too, especially in a Nuzlocke.
I got to the E4 in Platinum enhanced, and only in Victory road did he evolve into Salamence, and he evolves at level 44 in Enhanced

well that was...really easy actually.
The only issue I had was my first two rock throws missing and anorith getting an ancient power boost, but geodude took it out with one rock throw even with the +1 defense.
I really should've lost beedril there when I switched in on lileep (who used SD). for some reason he went for another SD instead of rock slide and I took him out with two twineedles.
shieldon/aron were taken out by geodude, bonsly and cranidos to machop.
easy battle, no losses. this run is starting to get a lot better. the first loss is coming though, I can feel it.

Blaze black changes a lot of typings, Pitch Black doesn't.
I'm fairly sure Pitch Black is harder.
And the rivals in Pitch Black are genderswapped. Cheren is a girl, Bianca a boy, N's a whiny broad.
Pokemon placement is different, though they are all available in both games.
In Pitch Black, you aren't told what pokemon is going to be sent in next in battle. It just says " [X] is going to send in something, change pokemon?"

Just minor differences.
I randomized the starters, but that's it, so no, Vullaby isn't a starter pokemon.

Machoke is worth it though.
Still, grinding's going fairly well. Fairly Certain I'll sweep through the gym with just Toxic Spikes beedril anyways, but I want everyone at the same level for team galactic.
