Fuck's sake, no he isn't a shitty trainer. Getting that far in a league means that he's one of the strongest trainers in the region. The only reason why we plow through everything in the games is because the plot wants it. If we actually had Pokémon, I'm sure we would get our asses kicked quite often.

STAB is, do YOU watch it? One example: it's the reason why Infernape only uses Fire move when Blaze activates, even when it's under control. Even Ash knows STAB exists, too much in fact.

There's no such restriction like this in the anime. I only mentionned the best trainers the anime displayed, not their functions. I didn't even mentioned Ash in this equation.

Do it like Special, or YuGiOh, or Digimon and so on. The protag wins/fulfil his/her dream/goal, you replace it. It also allows to refresh the series, which for some shows was much needed: can you imagine Yami Yugi failing over and over again?. The writers failed to do so, it became utterly repetitive. At least there's less 'character of the day'.

Ash is iconic, as much as you don't like him. It's like replacing Goku in Dragon Ball. Toriyama tried that after the Cell saga, look at what it led to. As bad as Ash is, I don't want to see him go because he's someone from my childhood.

That's why Dragon Ball is over. Because you couldn't replace Goku. Pokémon anime is neither over or Ash replaced, it just goes on with shitty writing and painful episodes. At least when the good animators comes back for a couple of episodes you are able to see good fights. Sinnoh league was enjoyable for example, like Battle Frontier, like Charizard vs Dragonite before faggot N interrupted the fight. But that's a dime in a dozen.

Not really no. Most movies are just side-dishes, it doesn't matter to the canon. And this, whoever the writer is. We're talking about the guy who fanarted SSJ4 anyway you know. Never he's going himself to say GT isn't cannon even if he doesn't recognize the series because it's not from him. If he says BoG is canon, it's much more to carter the stuck-up fanbase whining on GT whatever the legitimates or shitty reasons they cry about it. What he actually says about it has little to no value.
