Games like FF: Crystal Chronicles and Four Swords Adventures required every player play on a GBA, and that was cumbersome to arrange and set up a lot of the time. There just wasn't enough of the right kind of support for it, it was either an afterthought or required but not well-implemented or user-friendly.
