First off, I am personally not in favor of suggesting changes to the type chart, simply because it seems completely implausible at this point.
Second, Ice doesn't really need fewer weaknesses. What it needs is more resistances.

Make Ice be neutral to Fire.

Make Ice take NVE damage from Ground, Water and Dragon. It wont fix it but it'll be a hell lot more usable.

Give ice types reliable coverage moves to hit Steel types, such as Flamethrower or Superpower.

Changing the defensive capabilities of one type WILL change the offensive capabilities of another. Removing Ice's weakness to Fighting will make the fighting Type worse.

Fighting is already too good, and it will still be really good, because it hits rock, dark and steel for SE, and their impecable coverage with Dark and Rock. It wouldn't change much if it didn't SE Ice.

However, if Ice wasn't weak to Fighting, it'd be waaay better. Abomsnow would probably be OU again, Weavile, Lapras and Jynx would get much more use, Cloyster would be a bit broken, and Walrein would probably get to RU.

Just rework Sleep so the sleep clause can fucking FINALLY get repealed.

It's kind of one of the best offensive types. And despite having virtually no pokemon in it it's one of the most fleshed-out types in terms of coverage and variety.

If you want to buff it just make it strong against steel.

no need to nerf dragons, what we need is buff the ice type, for example hail is the only weather with only 1 summoner and it has 8 weakness, a "stealth ice", give it 1 innumity and remove 1 weakness (preferably fighting).

poison works better as secondary type but i agree that it would be nice have a stage attack like poison room or something like that.

grass well idk but needs some kind of buffing

You throw throw some of the leftover ice cubes at the fire, and it's no longer there. Ice melts in contact with fire, after all, turning into water.

It makes (some) sense. Besides, fire has 5 resistances already, and hell, fire is NVE against rock and SE against steel, how can you make less sense than that?

Ice is one of the worst types, and fighting one of the best. Fighting would still be one of the best typing if it did neutral damage to Ice, but Ice would be much more usable if it did.

It's a typing in desperate need of viable pokes, because it's already a good typing.
Sure, it sucks offensively, but it's easy to combine with other typing and take advantage from it. Qwilfish, Tentacruel and Toxicroak really enjoy that Fighting resistance, and Crobat couldn't ask for a better typing, which allows it to wall physical attackers with nonexistance defenses, and sweep with it's great secondary stab.

Dark should be SE against Normal
Poison should be SE against physical-ish types (Normal, Fighting, Flying, Dragon, etc.)
Bug should be resistant to Poison, maybe possibly be immune to the status
Rock should be immune to Burn and resist Grass
Ice should resist some types it's SE against (like Flying and Grass) and possibly be SE against Water

Now Normal is even more useless, and dark even better of an offensive typing. Flying, a barely usable type on it's own, it's now one of the worst types to have. It's not the worst because Grass is completely unusable.

It's not exactly a nerf. They just reduced the variance to three turns maximum, but to compensate they made it reset on switchout.

There are all sorts of things they could do to improve sleep as a gameplay mechanic - make it so that any level of damage (other than moves that only work on sleeping enemies) wakes the sleeping pokemon up, so the only viable use for sleep would be to switch into a setup. Make it so that benched-for-three-turns Sleeping pokemon always wake up on the turn they're sent out. Even if that last part wasn't implemented, can you imagine stealth rock waking the switched-in pokemon up, and therefore being counterintuitive on sleep teams? Talk about a more diverse metagame.
