I've seen this info brought up on a few sites in the last hour or so, one Youtube video had a screen of the /vp/ thread, but I don't see it now. Um...sounds cool?
> On April 6th/7th, GameFreak is revealing three new Pokemon via the official Pokemon X and Y website, as well as Pokemon Smash. These three New Pokemon will likely surprise players as they, design wise, are not exactly ground-breaking but their role in Pokemon X and Y is something that has never been done before in a mainline Pokemon game. These three new Pokemon are a second set of Starter Pokemon that will be available in Pokemon X and Y, like the Monkey Trio in Pokemon Black and White, but they each have individual designs and are part of a three-stage line like the regular Starters. They are not distributed at the beginning of the game but, rather, you obtain the one weak to your main Starter around the end of the first 1/4th of the game. The reason there are two sets of Starters this time around? Well, it's to highlight a very in-depth new feature revolving around pairing up Pokemon that will be revealed at a later date. And now, without further ado, let me introduce you to the secondary Starters of Pokemon X and Y.
Grass Starter: Looks like a little peacock mixed with a pea, with a red belly, and little pea-pod tail-feathers. Pure Grass.
English: Peavo
Spanish: Peavo
Italian: Peavo
French: Peaon
German: Pfaubse
Japanese: ピージャク
Fire Starter: A large, bipedal red bull with black horns and black spots and white stripes on its body. Pure Fire.
English: Corrull
Spanish: Corrull
Italian: Corrull
French: Robulle
German: Wulle
Japanese: アカブル
Water Starter: A bipedal, shark creature with a flat head and an infectious grin that stretches across its face. Pure Water.
English: Jawsome (yes, I believe this is a shout-out to Street Sharks)
Spanish: Jawsome
Italian: Jawsome
French: Regrin
German: Haifive
Japanese: ニコザメ
