Howdy guys, just had a wierd idea and was wondering your opinion on it. How about a full pokemon RTS, i know we already have conquest, but i'm thinking more like Age of Empires or Dawn of War, with different nations being either generations or just select groups of pokemon.

The types could all be different nations, so if you were the water nation you could have quagsire as a heavy unit or a squirtle as a scout etc. I'm down with your idea OP. Not sure what buildings would be though

that would ruin the balance. in AoE, you can use different units to counter, because every unit have a weakness and everything is in your disposel.

a fire kingdom is in signifcant edges with a water kingdom. sure, some fires know solarbeam but to have a whole culture at such a disatvantage is simply poor balancing

I think if you make the units balanced it wouldn't be a problem, you could have special units or upgrades, and counters for the foes typing in your movesets. I have also thought of the idea of a pokemon final fantsy advance squad based combat kinda thing. Don't know if this has been said before

Face it, fire just have a natural weakness to water rock and ground.

why not divide by location? cave nation / river nation / deep see nation/ savanah nation / space nation/ etc

Besides Eggs, a division by each Region's Gym Leaders and Elite 4 could work. So take Unova as an example (using the B2/W2 lineup). It would get as Basic Units mons from Normal, Poison, Bug, Electric, Ground, Flying, Dragon, and Water types, while it's Elite or Special units are of Ghost, Dark, Psychic or Fighting Type.

Under this setup, each "region" would have access to all generations in order to keep balance
