We here on /vp/ love Pokemon, am I bothered by the fact there are over 600 Pokemon? No. Shit, give me 600 more - I'm ready.
But there are people who don't want that, not everyone is the same as you, me or the rest of /vp/.
Here's an analogy: My dad is well into his 60s now, when I got a PS2 I gave him my old PS1 for him to play. He doesn't express a lot of interest in videogames but enjoys playing them nonetheless.
When I got rid of my PS2, I offered it to him. I told him it could play DVDs, play PS1 games plus a number of sequels were available for his favorite games. He wasn't interested, the new games were much more advanced, had better graphics, more cars/players/fighters/whatever but it didn't satisfy. He enjoyed playing videogames for their simplicity. He didn't care about having a choice of hundreds of cars on the new Gran Turismo or hundreds of new combos on Tekken. He was happy with what he had, it didn't require extensive amount of memorizing, unlocking and menu selections. It was simple.
>>11876675Once again, you're missing the point. What you're saying is relevant to a Pokemon fan, but it's not relevant to someone who wants to play a great game. They don't give a shit that we have hundreds of new Pokemon or items - if anything that would only deter them.
You're looking at things very closed-mindedly. I never said Gen I was the best, only that it stands up fine by itself.
