What is magmar?

Guys, a while back I saw an image that showed magmar was based from an old black and white movie monster. What was that? Does anyone have that image?

magmar, and electabuzz, are based off of the karura from hindu-buddhist mythology. i didnt see the previous post but here is and image of one.

I got that from google, but this was an old movie that the monster looks 99.99% that magmar.

It's based on a booby, a type of bird, as well as a fire salamander and a Karura.

Pokémon can be based on multiple things.
