This is neat, i've been out of the loop for a while and this is kind of unknown to me, can someone explain the gist of things? I'm interested, though i read in the doc. about trading being involved, unfortunately I have lack of wi-fi due to Win7 + Adapter clashing. Though I read that as the GEN V league, I could participate or act among the Showdown league

If it's any use, I am a big fan of ice types, I currently use a successful mono-ice but if I -could- under circumstance become a gym or something similar I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to tone it down and such.

Either way, I'm game!

The league itself is based from the idea of the pokemon league in the games. in the cart leagues, people are given a level limit, a poke limit, and you can't use trade/stone evolutions until gym 3 (I think). you can only have one pokemon at your level limit, everything else must be lower. the gyms have 4 pokemon max, the elites have 5 max, and the champion can use a full team of 6. it is assumed most challengers are doing this alongside their game
the showdown league is a bit different, assuming my idea from last thread got through. basically, the gyms/elite 4 go from LC to Uber. it raises slowly however: first gym has 3 'mon LC team, then second gym has 6 LC team, then the next two use 3 and 6 teams of NU, and so on until we get the elites using 6 'mon OU teams, and the champion using an Uber team.

in the showdown league, challengers are given the same restriction as whoever they're currently facing
in the cart league, challengers only have a level limitation that goes "X + 3" where X is the opponents highest level. there is no limit to their team size

pretty sure that's everything you need to know, but I'm not OP.
I was however the first person to join and I convinced OP on some other thread (I forget what) to make this a while ago
