>>11893267Purple is complimentary with yellow, but Garchomp is a very blueish purple, if not a dark blue. Orange yellow or even just bright orange would be a better compliment. Look at Gibble and how its teal color compliments the orange underbelly, and compare that to the blue-purple on Garchomp and its red/yellow underside.
Pikachu has yellow and black which are high contrast and help convey the electric theme. A lot of electric types share the yellow and black combo. The red on the cheeks is a bit odd, but it helps accentuate the face. Pikachu doesn't have a crappy design, and the colors make sense.
>>11893354The bands that on Gibble and Gabite have a slightly lighter shade of the main body color, have now adopted the same color as the rest of the main body. Yes, it outlines the location where they should connect to the head, but that section should have more than just two black lines on a dark color to differentiate the location. Rather than a random star forehead, some highlights on the bands to make the sections noticeable would have been better.
If it hadn't been designed with a mess of colors and lines on the underbelly, then it wouldn't have to be so busy on the arms and legs too. Connecting the fins to the body would have been less convoluted than meshing a brown-red underbelly with the yellow crotch arrow and the V-line on the pelvis.
The spikes could have been literally anything else to break-up the solid body color. The fact that they had to add spikes in random places to make the spikes on the ends of its arms less distracting and pointless says something about the limb design.
You can try and defend it all you like, but Gible has a sleeker, less cluttered, and more streamlined design than Garchomp, which is opposite to the intended effect.
