When a level 40 pokemon takes on average 5000 (ignoring the exponential rise in required experience for ever additional level) experience to level up once, training a whole team from 40 to 45 would take about 2500 Graveler if you have a team of six. Say each KO takes about 30 second from the time the battle starts to when it ends that would be about 1250 minutes, or roughly 21 hours of straight grinding. This is taking into account the fact that this is the quickest way to grind because Graveler and Ursaring are pretty much the only thing you'll encounter and give the most pre E4 experience of any wild pokemon. Too bad you can't rebattle trainers easily to supplement this either.
