If you're trying to MM then no, you're not doing it right.
The Pokémon games were never translated in Portuguese/Brazilian so there's no such thing as a Brazilian Ditto (except it came from a game that it's being used in Brazil, but the identity of the Pokémon itself its still American).
Look up for a French or Japanese Ditto instead, it should fix your MM's problems all in one.
