Pidgeot kind of sucks for competitive, and I was already far into HG and Black 2 at the time that I didn't want to use it for the story. Maybe XY if I can transfer Pokemon early (or at all, with only 1 3DS).

I'm currently MMing for a shiny Trubbish, it's slow..

First ever shiny I encountered that wasn't coded shiny was a Hariyama in the battle tower or what ever it's called in Sapphire, made me really sad..

My first catchable shiny was a Geodude wich was really just a random but at the same time pokeradar, just tried it out and first shake was shiny wich felt kind of awesome.

In the earlier games, they don't start selling pokeballs at the Pokemart until after you get your first pokeballs. So yeah, I completely understand him not knowing that you could buy pokeballs that early. I thought the same thing until I thought it was a bit weird that I hadn't gotten any yet, so I checked out of curiosity.

The only shinies I've not RNGed were in silver
a bellsprout and a girafarig, I thought they were scripted(like the red gyarados) so when i started a new file I spent about a couple of hours trying to find them in the same spots I had before

I'm pretty lucky when it comes to finding shinies. I've seen 5 shinies and caught 4 of them.

Only one I didn't catch was a damn rattata when I was delivering Oak's parcel.
