So I was nuzlocking Fire Red Omega for the first time, without any prior knowledge regarding the game.

I started off with Smoochum (yes, Ice stab is worth it), got myself a Mudkip and a Shroomish early on, and caught a Spearow later on.´

I shit on pretty much everything and got my 4th badge. I grinded absolutely nothing after the 2nd gym, just defeated every trainer along the way and caught my pokémon on every route to box.

My team was around 48 when I got to Fuchsia, and I was afraid I might be overleveled. I had had literally 0 casualties throughout the game. I began to question if I should have trained another 2 pokémon earlier on, to kind of lower the levels, or maybe even avoid battling trainers along the way.

Boy, was I wrong.

Koga. That fucker led with a level 46 Weezing. I made the mistake of leading with Swampert instead of Jynx, I was afraid this might happen.

I couldn't switch out. Jynx had a whopping 54 defense stat, any crit would 1-hit it.

Weezing uses Explosion. Swampert faints from full HP.

Oh, shit. Swampert was the perfect coverage. The synergy of typings in my team was pretty solid, and now it was broken. With the rage of a thousand Gyarados I revenge killed it with Jynx.

Koga sends out Crobat. Level 50. Shadow Ball 1-hits Jynx. Suddenly it dawned on me it wasn't just Swampert. He proceeds to sweep my entire team and single-handedly end my run.

I could not have been prepared for that. The level difference was abysmal. I was careless. My prior feats gave me a false sense of security, which ultimately led to my demise. I had just obtained Surf, and could've easily done a few tasks that would've given me some more preparation. Yet I thought it would only have the made the game easier and boring...

Moral of the story: either study the game beforehand, or never take a nuzlocke for granted. Ever.
