The original intent was to talk about your non-adventures with pokemon since more likely than not, if you were on 4chan in the pokemon world, you wouldn't be some gym leader or someone trying to gather the sacred swords.
You'd be a trainer with a few badges and a few pokemon, if that.
If you can't see that nothing's changed you must either be new, or you really just don't pay attention to the threads.
