Why don't trainers carry more than 6 Pokemon with them on adventures? I mean, who checks to see if you only have 6? You could carry 20 and hide them in your backpack.

In the Arceus film, Arceus gets jumped by about a hundred pokemon at once. Perhaps he deemed it international law from there on out to limit it to 6 in case he gets jumped again

It's a game mechanic, you fucking autists. This is a video game. If it were real life, there would be nothing stopping you from carrying more than six pocket monster capsules. However, since it's a video game, there are certain measures put in place to create what we call balance.

Pokemon League makes the rules. You have to follow them if you want to participate in their system, and since everybody else does you don't really have much choice unless you want to do contests or some shit.
