All starter pokemon are meant to be the same, it's for people who want to swoon through the game at ease, they tend to level up a lot quicker and are easier to use than other pokemon that you see at the start of the game.

I just hate that so many of the starters retain identical playstyles to ones that came before. GameFreak has an annoying habit of creating clutter by making new things just to have new things when they don't actually have any new ideas. Blaziken was a nice departure. Empoleon and Swampert too. That's it though.

I'm not going to use start Pokemon again. I boxed the shitty gen V starter immediately because I want to have my own fucking adventure.

Keeping the starter in your party is not essential to the gameplay. Starters are just starters. There's nothing that special about them other than the fact that they can't be caught in the wild.

Infernape extreamly fragile
Venusaur takes more hits but solar beam and chlor arent enough

I can't deal with monotypes most of the time. Swampert and Torterra are pretty fun to use, as well as any of gen 2.

Regardless, they both wreck shit with sun support. Granted that Sun has a bit of a hard time with rain, after a weather war, It pretty much guarantees a Venusaur sweep. Nape is there as a general Fire-type considering the lack of them in the upper tiers and is greatly benefitted by its resistance to sneaky pebbles.

Blaziken not being good in Ubers?

You must be new to the meta.
Infernape was too good in 4th gen be versatile and powerful. And Venusaur has late game sweeping since Ninetails got Drought
