I've always been curious, because most trainers go out on their adventure when they're about 10 or so, does that mean there aren't schools? I've never really seen any Elementary, Middle,or High Schools in Pokemon.

There are regular schools and shit in the anime. And then theres schools for kids where they teach about pokemon ontop of your regular school work. I mean, unova has a fleshy education system. It's not like it's unheard of.

I once went through a manic period where I worked out how the entire pokeworld education system would realistically work and wrote it down on several papers with diagrams and such. It involved a heavy tracking system.

I threw those papers away about five years ago and it's been pissing me off ever since because I cannot fucking remember

This always bothered me about pokemon. The world is supposed to be damned near utopic. But looking at surge, it's obvious there must have been some level of combat, global or otherwise.

I've always thought it would be cool to be a therapist who helped abused or mentally unstable pokemon. Like, think about how powerful pokemon are. If they became unstable they would be really dangerous. But you wouldn't want to put them down because who could hurt a pokemon?

You would have pokemon who worked with you in your profession to help the damaged 'mon recover and rejoin society. Think about it, pokemon with abilities like lightning rod that absorb certain type attacks or pokemon with immunities would be really important when working with an unstable 'mon.

I think there's a lot of potential there for storytelling. Too grim for the pokemon world though probably. Maybe not. I haven't watched the anime in like ten fucking years.
