Keep it from fainting and give it a massage or two and it should evolve within 10 levels. Trades are important because you're supposed to buy one version, a friend is supposed to buy the other. I don't have friends, so yeah this never worked out for me.

The nintendogs thing is a decent idea but it's the exclusivity that was added in the OP that I don't agree with. Who wouldn't want to pet their pokemon? But what difference would that be from friendship and WHY would it be fucking gender exclusive?
The reason to buy the 3ds is the fact that the game is exclusive for the 3ds. That's reason enough. I suppose "Oh now you can pet your pokemon" isn't somehting bad to add to convince more people to purchase it, but they shouldn't have to add features.
I think my privilege is showing as I already own a 3ds and I don't have to worry about purchasing one. I would buy the game right now if available. It's a pokemon game I don't need any more convincing.
