Any pokemon that you guys need to bring along if possible for each of your playthroughs? I'm thinking about X & Y and it's gonna be hard to leave behind my roserade, scizor, and flareon. I try to bring them along whenever I can. Anyone else like this?

Nope. I like using different pokemon to see how they fair.

Taking up 3 spots with your favorite pokemon is going to reduce your chances of finding other pokemon to love.

In the first game of each generation, I always try to catch new Pokemon only; I don't want to use Pokemon I've already seen or used tons of times. In later games though, sometimes I send over an egg of a Pokemon I like to start with.

I play by a 'no-repeats' policy. The teams I use to beat the final four the first time (or first rematch) of any game, I never use again outside of end game stuff

first playthrough of any new game I use only Pokemon native to that game.
after that there's no restrictions and if I use previously used Pokemon I like to at least have a Crobat
