Got hooked through my little brother, kept playing long after he'd quit. At first, he'd still indulge me and play a match every now and then (we didn't know anyone else who still played after the hype died), but as I got better cards and he couldn't beat me anymore, he refused to still play with me.
Haven't played in years, but kept somewhat up to date on the newest developments until about a year ago. Also bought booster packs and rare cards that I missed back in the day at cons about twice a year. Now I've completely quit since most cards in my deck are horribly outdated and I don't have anyone to play with.
I liked YuGiOh a lot. I still do, except it's a thing of the past now and the current game, while cool, doesn't really feel like the game I remember playing. So I'll just say "Xyz-what?" while admiring my Jinzo, my full Exodia set, my full Destiny Board set and my favourite card, Harpie's Brother, which has been with me since I started playing with Joey's Starter Deck.
...Fuck, anon, you got me all nostalgic. Think I'll go dig up the old deck...
