I enjoyed gen 4 a lot. The physical/special split was an excellent move, and the graphics were great. Yes, a couple of the new evos weren't very good. But overall I really enjoyed the game, and don't understand the hate for it.

For me gen IV (Platinum in particular) was one of the only pokémon games that made me care about the story going on behind it really. It had a pretty nice atmosphere in parts too, such as Mt. Coronet.

Gen III is my favourite though in terms of just having fun while playing.

I started with gen 2,moved on to being a Hoennbabby, and am now a Unovabortion, as most sensible people should be. Superior plot, very diverse Dex, and all dem Bugs and Ghosts.

I can see your point with the most diverse dex and bugs and ghosts, they're always good.
