I love it, but it's a bit short for 15 dollars. Only took me 3.5 hours to get through the final boss with all silver/golds and all Pokemon stages but one beaten on both difficulties (dat trainer theme).

Will the eighth world rape my shit? Ive barely played it yet.

I've only played the demo, but was so into it that I replayed all the stages until I got a great score. Will probably pick it up in the future.

How different is the timing in the real game? I noticed some things were disappointingly off, but I chalked it up to me not being as good at keeping rhythm as I thought I was. Can anyone explain the improvements? I realize that might be hard to do through text.

Seriously? I rage quit twice, at the mountain chasms and at I think the third stage of the bee boss, because I swore I had the timing right yet kept missing. I probably wasn't gonna get the game anyway, but at least now I know those who did get it weren't getting something totally unfair.

The Iwata Asks goes into it a bit. One of the big problems they had during development was getting the timing just right. It is very strict, but one thing Masuda discussed was how getting the rhythm out of sync by 2 frames messed everything up just enough to ruin the experience. Was also interesting reading about his insane sixth sense for this kind of thing

I guess they didnt fix all that for the demo

Okay, now I'm seriously mindfucked. I didn't experience any of these issues with performance being off. Would having an XL versus a regular 3DS affect it, or maybe I just imprinted the incorrect timing? I'm an avid platformer and rhythm gamer, so that honestly wouldn't surprise me. I adjust my timing constantly, so even when stuff does feel weird I can make it natural in about half an hour.

The entire point is playing to the music rhythm, not what you see. You hit that one out of instinct, otherwise you're doing it wrong.

I'm quite sure I was hitting all the notes perfectly, with good timing yet I hit nothing.

Hell, the left right canyon bit I failed constantly despite trying different timings for it.

And I always timed it exactly right and yet I still fucked up somehow. The worst is that I could flawlessly do the first part but once you hit the cave it all goes downhill.

Here's a trick you can do the, go to a level with an egg that can easily be beaten and keep finishing the level with the extra health, it stays, I went into Gargan with 8 hearts and finally beat him

Same, there was this weird period of time, about 5 minutes or so where I couldn't get past the jump in the beginning, I kept falling to the death. I think it was because of how pissed off I was getting, fuck getting a Great on that though

That jump didn't give me much of a problem unless I hit one of the walls at the beginning. After that, it was pretty much smooth sailing unless I choked but then that cave....who the fucks idea was it to make it that long. So much anger, pain, and tears.
