ITT: Things various Pokemon games did well, things they did right, things you wish they'd do, and things you wish they'd stop doing.

Preferably a bit more broad than "I hated [name of Pokemon] because it had a shit movelist" and more along the lines of "I don't like that the abilities that let you travel further take up Pokemon move slots" and things like that.

tl;dr what, as monster training game, does Pokemon do better than other series, and what is it lacking (that other games do better or perhaps that's a weakness of the genre as a whole right now)?
