You need to elaborate OP, where are you failing?

Straight off the bat I can see you're lacking in powerful offensive moves - you need to deal more damage. However, if your average level is 40 you don't have access to more powerful moves anyway.

Use this to figure out what you're weak to and catch 2-6 Pokemon that will balance out your Miltank, Togetic and Meganium. I'd say ditch Furret (make it an HM slave) or Togetic.

Also, only bitches use Ubers. Ditch the last two, but kudos for catching Raikou at this level.

Even with this guy's shitty team Lugia should be able to solo Bruno. It can Extrasensory or Aeroblast for 2x dmg on 4 of them and use Hydro Pump for 4x dmg on Onix.

For the most part you do get enough info to figure it out, but there are times when it is luck based such as : any level pass level 6, sometimes you'll have two squares left on one line and the lines the squares don't share have the same point and voltorb values making it 50/50.

Hey man I don't think you where along in having this experience, Soul Silver was rather lacking in selection of Pokemon total. With that said you don't have to worry about making a Smogon compatible team because the way the elite 4 works you can get away with playing with your favorites and more importantly its less fun using a min maxed team for the Elite 4. Despite that your team could use some better balance. You've got a whopping 3 normal types on your team making you crippling weak to Fighting even if one of them is also flying. Even if you weren't to encounter any fighting types(and I have some bad news on that front) you still have really bad coverage. I'd say find 2 other pokemon you find appealing with some decent coverage and fill in 2 of those 3 normal type slots. Which 2 you can decide for yourself. Personally, and this has nothing to do with being the best, I'd keep Furret simply for being a team mascot and also because Furret is awesome.

Also, since you're around level 40, it would seem you are at or just finished the 8th gym correct? On the route after that gym, the one with all the annoying one way ledges(I forget its number at the moment) you can find a Skarmory. They rarely appear but getting one is most definitely worth the effort and would greatly help round out your team.
