>>11974792It's not something from Corocoro only. There is this model of Japanese magazine, they're as big as telephone guides. They bring LOTS of stuff (be information and even many chapters of different manga series), so that's why they have those covers. The paper varies, it has some nice pages in color but most of it (especially when it comes to manga magazines) is really bad paper. They're cheap, too, they're mean to be kinda like our newspaper: to read on the morning or the train ride and throw them away quickly (that's why manga then gets the copilation volumes).
All this is quite bizarre when you remember that *everyone* in Japan reads these magazines. Anime is more of an otaku thing, but everyone has at least one magazine with a story they follow. You'll see lots of adults with one of those in the subway.
