Not that guy, but since Multiple saves files are not a thing, it's overall useful to have a 2nd version for some extra pokemon or items, as well as stuff like Nuzlockes.

C-Gear functions similar to Streetpass (except Streetpass did it better) but that was only a Gen V thing. It wasn't required to trade online. You could trade online back in Diamond and Pearl really.

As for my starter, either Fennekin or Chespin. Depends on their final evolutions. Right now I'm leaning towards Fennekin.
