I would always breed inter-family Pokemon. First, get the mommy and daddy pokemon. Let them make an egg. I then hatch the egg. If it was male. I'd let it breed with the mother. If female. Breed with the father.

I don't have anything OP tier, but I always have to save my games in the middle of the Pokeball in Pokemon centers

If I'm training my Pokemon, I always have to go heal them when they all gain a level, even if they still have PP and haven't taken any damage

I always use Pokeballs to catch everything because I don't like browsing through my Pokemon and seeing random balls

Every time I fight a gym, I add one new Pokemon to my team until six, and raise my whole team by five levels. I always fight the first gym with two level 20 Pokemon.

Whenever I used to save my game, I'd save at the pokémon center while I was standin/sitting on one of the chairs because I imagined that when I turned off the game, all the NPCs and my character would go to sleep. I wanted him to be comfortable :3

I have to level up my pokemon evenly, if a pokemon gains a level it moves to the back of the party.

I can't have more than one of a type on my team.

I can't have any pokemon who don't evolve on my team in game. I can catch it but that shit does not belong on my team.

In game my pokemon need to forget any non-damaging moves ASAP. sorry smogonfags, can't do it.

I would never save and turn off in front of the entrance to any building (so I didn't block the path), and whenever I needed to shift stuff around in my inventory or party, I'd make sure I was either on a chair or next to a wall facing away from it, like leaning my back against it. I also tended to make sure my Pokemon were all the exact same level before going anywhere else in the game. Today, I still prefer to keep all of my team within just a few levels of each other.
Oh yeah, and when I play any Hoenn game and I'm near my secret base and need to turn off the game, I'll usually go to my base to save.

I EV train the Pokémon I used in the main story, even if their natures and IVs are shit. It's just that these are the guys who got me through the Elite 4, and it seems appropriate that they get me through the Battle Frontier/Battle Tower/Battle Subway/PWT, too.

Well... I have some habits.

-I cheer my pokemon when they're battling, and say things like "that's okay, you did a good job" when they faint.
-I'm always sure to have a fire, an electric and an ice/water pokemon. And it's probably because of colors.
-I usually level my team with certain differences. Before reaching the Elite 4, I get sure my favorite pokemon in the team is two or three levels above the electric/fire/water trio, and then I make sure those are two levels above the other two pokemon, somewhat in Red's fashion.
-When I reach the Elite 4, I set the play style to Set, then I don't use any revives or healing items.
-I always pick the girl, and always name her either Sun or Nikol.

I named every single Pokemon I caught.

I caught every single Pokemon I didn't have.

If a Pokemon got away, or was knocked out, I'd walk around in the same nine or so squares until I ran into one with the same gender and level and try again. If I failed then I'd move the hunting spot to the same map but a different area because it must have gone somewhere else to hide.

I would learn the nature of every Pokemon I catch and immediately assign it a personality.

I would battle with every Pokemon at least once to show it that I didn't hate it and was at least a little sorry for beating it up so horribly.

I would then throw every Pokemon I catch into a different box depending on what its type was, unless that box was empty, in which case it went into whichever box had the most of its type until there were two.

Come at me.

That's just due to playing Red and Gold a lot in Pokemon Stadium/2. There's no reason for me to do it for almost 4 generations now, but I still do it.

Also, I never pick the male trainer. I'll always pick female and typically name her Honoka.

Lots of them aren't that bad, except for the lake trio or Deoxys(if you have the event ticket).
Sleeping them helps conserve their PP and improves catch rate.

Coming from someone who is super OCD about catching shinies in only premier balls, got a Chansey that way

I've never needed to use revives to catch a pokemon before that asshole. Thank goodness I had a dark type to leave in on its psychic attacks as I patched up my wrecked team.

The only thing I constantly did up to BW was train only my starter, so by the E4 i just one-shoted everything with a level 80 or so starter

it's just that in past gens grinding takes fucking forever and i don't have much patience

I did it every goddamn time

Also: I had the my first save game and team on Pokemon Red for years. I got all the pokemon through trading with friends and working hard (this means more before internet guides).
I never would have wiped that game if I didn't lend my lvl. 100 Charizard (my first pokemon ever) to a friend, only have the asshole wipe his game with it still on it.
He crushed me. I think a part of me still hurts about it to this day.

When fighting a big battle like the Champion or Team leader I always try to get each of my 6 Pokes to fight solo against each the opposing 6 Pokes. It feels more "appropriate" for such an occasion, also giving each team member a chance to shine and showing off how each member is stronger than what the opponent is capable of.

I went full autism for my whole pokemon career and transferred a Pokemon from Red to Pokemon Stadium, to Gold, then to Ruby with a connection cable, then to Fire Red, then I dongled him into Pokemon Pearl, then Platinum, finally to Black and White 2.

I fuckin love my Magneton. He won't ever evolve. Eviolite and Magnet Rise are all he needs to be an ace.

Cable from hong kong specifically made to do it. It has a little pokeball on the middle part where a GBA link cable is soldered to a chip that handles logic and a GB link cable is soldered to the other half. It does code injection like a gameshark and copies your pokemon over to the new game.

The old one usually crashes or gets missingno, even if it's a gen 1 pokemon because of extra data.

I often try to start my games organized and shit, naming them and focusing on lvls and what not. Around 1/4th into the game, I stop giving a fuck and just push through the game.
