I think Renamon's line would change types a lot. I can see a case for Ghost, Psychic, or Ice as Renamon, then Kyubimon would obviously be Fire, then Taomon is Psychic and Sakuyamon has control of all four traditional elements so... who knows?

Once you get to mega level, it seems like digimon start to become a bit homogenous. Way too many human women with accessories/dudes in armor/generic cyber dragons. For instance I think I prefer Lilamon to Lotusmon because the former has some obviously nonhuman traits, though on the other hand I do like the way that Lotusmon attempts to evoke its namesake. I guess it's not too bad when they're allowed to be characters in their own right, but it can be a bit disappointing in the games where they're just another spot on a list.

Trying to pick out types for digimon can be a bit of a pain since a whole pile of them cling heavily to the good/evil/dragon/metal themes.

Anyway, Mach Gaogamon is a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine. It's so cheesy looking, like something a little kid would throw together to one up somebody else. "Oh yeah, well my guy's a WEREWOLF. And a CYBORG. And he has a JET PACK that goes a billion times faster than the speed of light. And he's the Universal Heavyweight Champion of FIGHTING. All of the fighting. He has a badass scar and a belt to prove it. And he wears shades all day, 'cause that's how cool he is." It didn't hurt that it was completely overpowered in Digimon World Data Squad due to the way speed manipulation worked.
