Pokemon Gold, going through Victory Road I found a Granbull. This was bak in 2000, and I thought that was natural.

I just learned it wasn;t.

I had a gligar in Crystal that knew Earthquake twice. That alone was weird, but it wasn't until a few months ago that I learned that it can't even learn earthquake in the first place. The only way to get a Gligar with earthquake in gen 2 was by playing through Pokemon Stadium 2, and I didn't own that game, or know anybody with it. I also didn't have a gameshark or AR, so I have absolutely no idea where that gligar came from.

I had pokemon red, and my brother had pokemon blue. I picked charmander, so my rival picked bulbasaur.
My brother picked squirtle, dropped his game boy, and HIS MOTHERFUKING RIVAL PICKED GODDAMN CHARMANDER.
Without the guidebooks, I would have had NO FUCKING CLUE what ivysaur/venusaur were supposed to look like.

I must have been watching them walk around in a town somewhere and there just happened to be a trainer with a Pokemon near them and my imagination did the rest.

In Red, I tried to move the truck with strength, and it worked! Under it was Mew, Mewtwo, Mewthree, and MewX. I caught them all, then Ash walked up to me and said that I was the greatest of all time, and gave me 500 Master Balls, then he gave me the keys to the truck. I lost the game when I moved into my new house, so I don't have any proof, though.

I've had something similar happen a couple times. I pick up an egg, go inside to retrieve my Pokemon. When I talk to the lady, she says her husband wants to see me. But I already got the egg? So I go back out and retrieve another egg and go inside and now I can get my Pokemon back.

I've ended up with a pair of Charmander bros and a pair of Skitty bros this way.

I could swear I caught an Electabuzz in the Power Plant in Pokemon Yellow my first play through, no hacks or anything. Looking it up though, it seems Electabuzz was only found in Pokemon Red. I never found it any play throughs after that. Has this happened to anyone else?

My Pikachu evolved without a stone in Red version. It wasn't until last year that I learned that it was because I had a Growlithe in my party and that's one of the myriad of glitches present in Gen 1.

Got to this really glitchy version of the platform where Articuno lies inside the Seafom Islands. It was in a friend's yellow version. I was battling him and the gameboy turned itself off. When I came back to the game there was Nurse Joy and a Chansey there beside me. She told me something like"The waters are contaminated, you shouldn't enter there!"

We were both freaked out.

I just started playing Crystal. I chose Cyndaquil, went to Mr. Pokemon's house, fought ?????, went back. I caught a Rattata and threw the Cyndaquil in the box because I didn't want to use the starter. I moved it to box 2 so I wouldn't have to see it, but the battery died while moving. When I replaced the battery, I realized I forgot to save past picking the starter. I changed my mind and chose Totodile, and when I went to Cherrygrove I found Cyndaquil in box 2. Blew my mind. Now I beat all my friends with 6 Mewtwo

Blue, had recently started a new game.

Suddenly, holy shit. Wild Vulpix in the grass right before Viridian City. I tried to catch it but only had one pokeball left. It didn't work. Shit. I had to kill it, and started going to Viridian to buy some pokeballs. Formulating theorys in my head about how it was Brock's Vulpix or something.

And then HOLY SHIT two seconds later WILD NINETALES. Now I have no pokeballs.

I bought a lot and spent a very, very long time in the grass trying to find one of those again. I'm talking days. For the longest time after, I actually thought Vulpix/Ninetales were naturally wild in this area, just really rare.

I'm still scratching my head trying to figure out what happened.

I beat the Elite Four so many times I saw this glitch quite a lot. I had Gary facing every single direction. Red and Blue were glitchy as fuck.

This is more recent, but in Emerald I went to Faraway Island.

I have no idea how this was possible. The Old Sea Map was never released in the US, and I never used cheat devices. I got tons of stuff from mixing records, but the Old Sea Map isn't transferable that way, and wasn't unlockable through any of the other Pokemon games like Colosseum.

That was actually complete bullshit as well, That Garbodor didn't have any Accuracy boosting moves or items (It had a black sludge), Krookodile doesn't have Hustle as it's ability, and Garbodor also doesn't get Sand Veil either. I guess the game just had a bit of a spazz but I dunno

Never heard anyone else have this happen. Funny thing is, I had caught a shiny Horsea and used it it my team for a while, so I knew it wasn't just a shiny. Must've just screwed things up cloning everyone.

It was R/B/Y, I think Red. I went right to the elite 4 area because I thought that was where you went first. I got into the building, and pressed a while facing the right side of the right statue, and it gave me the fucking Boulder Badge. The man let me pass, and I had no idea what happened. To this day, I've never heard of this happening to anyone else.

Yeah I know you can catch Tangela on Route 21 (Cinnabar --> Pallet Town) but this was specifically in the tall grass outside Pallet Town where Oak first meets you.
