Just got the fifth badge and all four of my Pokemon are level 30. I've beaten all the trainers but have yet to invade Team Rocket in Mahogany. How did you train your Pokemon to high levels in HG/SS? I'm having bad luck doing it.

I was playing a run with just the pseudo-legendaries, but I ended up at the last gym with level 30ish pokemon,... and grinding is basically impossible in these games, fuck audino/lucky egg I can't go back

I never did understand how Game Freak never noticed this giant problem BEFORE releasing the game. I was hoping the E4 would be somewhere in the 50-60 range when I first heard about it.

Not really no, they made the trainers a bit stronger but there's still a massive gap at some points. Notably after the Radio Tower, shit is ridiculous.

While HG/SS is very fun, there are quite a few flaws with it.

>low level system
>Johto pokemon mostly in Kanto (Murkrow, Houndour, etc. (Pre Safari Zone))
>putting Rock Climb rocks on Mt. Silver
>paying for your own Safari Zone
>Whirl Islands being a pain while Bell Tower is a simple walking process

You could try training in the grass in front of the safari zone, pretty sure there are 20-25 mons.

And pre E4 go to the cave before the safari zone, go down to the sea and surf up the first waterfall, there's small spot with grass with 20-35 mons, it's a tad far from center, though.

And if by training high levels you mean past 50 then just challenge E4/Gyms/Red/Frontier over and over, not much, but meh.

That's a good thing. I was thinking of sending my team to Platinum and let them level up there. Also I made it to the Rocket hideout in Mahogany now, and I was wondering if the alarm statues trigger repeatedly when you leave and come back.

Anyway, as I said that area was godsend, and past Blackthorn there are geodudes/gravelers at like 30 they're pain for slow pokemon with their selfdestruct, though
And great XP is bug catching contest aswell (free mons that don't cost you anything)

Whirl Islands are fine. In fact, Pokemon could use harder caves. Fucking Unova took all of them out, one of its few actual flaws.
