For him however, the extra cover would prove useful for if he could look over the horizon he could spot the slight flash of razor wire and, if he listened in close enough, the loud hum of the generator echoing across the plains.

If he could get a look at the place he could see what they were up against but from the sounds it was apparently a fairly big operation. The biggest problem however would be in the headcount because out of the ones that had left, he was now missing one passenger.

If they could get a look at the place they could see what they were up against, but from the sounds it was apparently a fairly big operation, getting in without detection would prove to be near impossible in the current daylight unless there was some sort of distraction. Of course getting in was the least of their problems for the moment, for, if Holt had bothered to take a headcount upon landing, he would soon realize that one of them was missing.

Though being the steppe was saying alot. The hill was barely more than a slight bump in the land that lead to a slight dip that lead to a narrow gully from past frostmelt.

The odd girl would appear to suddenly find herself deposited almost unceremoniously into the middle of a large flat, and despite the spring, still mostly frozen steppe of Siberia. The nearly flat ground that she had landed on was nearly without any cover but for some of the sparse grasses that were barely peeking up through the thawing ground, the noonday sun making casting a harsh glare against the semi-thawed ground.

As she took a look around the mostly frozen landscape she would spot some sparse vegetation barely pushing up while the hoof prints of various animals seemed to barely stand out among the semi thawed ground... mixed in with what was obviously a non-man made track of some kind, looking almost like ski prints. Looking south would reveal the foothills of the Sayan mountains which sloped up gently stretching for miles and miles. To the north was the faint sight of smoke wisping over what looked to be a series of buildings on the horizon, which if she could look closely, she could catch the movement of guards walking their patrols, one which seemed to even now head in her direction slowly.

The group appeared to be three people wearing thick uniforms and stern expressions as they walked the ski path silently, one muttering to the other as they walked in her direction, either not paying attention, or believing her to be not much of a threat.

The Base was surrounded by what looked to be a mix between some quick acting cement walls and a layer o razorwire, apparently they were still setting the palce up, the winter most likely having disrupted their plans. There appeared to be only two entrances into the base, a gate facing their direction as well as a western one, both entryways looked heavily guarded a pair of guard towers and barriers making entry without permission near impossible.

Several guards patrolled around the perimeter some looking from downright average to some who were obviously well trained professionals, this place wouldn't be an eaasy nut to crack in the slightest.

Aside from the guards themselves another quick overview would show a small motor pool of mostly trucks mixed in with a couple BDRMs. There were a total of five buildings on the site, two looking like some recently constructed barracks, two looking like some sort of warehouse of some kind, and one place that seemed to be almost like a radar station or something else of the kind, the building itself seeming to have several antenna running out of it, there had to be something of importance going on here, or there had to have been something of importance on that meteor. Either way, between the guards and the vehicles, getting in would take some quick thinking.

The guards seemed almost stupefied at her, the first one just blankly staring at her with an expression of 'are you kidding me'? He turned to the guard next to him who kept a stern look behind his mask, causing the first man to tense up as well, checking the third man, who also focused on the girl.

There was a tense moment of staring between the three of them and her that seemed to drag on for almost a minute or so, before, almost without any warning all three men had their guns drawn and trained on her, the second man going over the radio, passing along a message of an intruder.
"No, how did you get out here," the man said again, a little more forcibly, "Who sent you!?"

Sakuri quickly and unexpectedly attempts to point one of her hands at the guard in order to freeze him with a weak ice spell.
It wasn't strong enough to subdue a powerful foe, but against regular people it should do just fine.

The soldier in question was tossed back into the ground from the ice spell landing with a dull thump against the icy ground before sliding away a bit, the other two soldiers watching almost stunned as he fell, the third guard suddenly clicking his safety off as the second shouted into the radio. Explaining in their language "We Selv is down, he's frozen!" explaining what happened as he quickly brought his shotgun to bear. Both of them heard an unusual response from the radio causing them to shake their heads and look to each other.

The third seemed to twitch a response before, suddenly circling to one side of her and firing a quick burst at her feet to cripple her.

The base was given a very thorough scan, looking for any weak points in the perimeter. There didn't seem to be very many. Even where the walls were left unfinished the gaps were filled with gleaming razor wire, that would be a problem. The gates themselves looked heavily guarded, so that just about ruled out walking through the front door on top of everything else. In other words, they'd be going through one of the holes in the walls.

"Guess that'll just have to do."

Making sure to stay low behind cover he continued to observe the guards and their patrol pattern, looking for any rank or unit insignias on each of them. Seems this place had a decent mix of elites and grunts, so far, he wasn't sure if that meant he got an easier or harder job than Varnock. That would probably remain to be seen until they got into a confrontation.

"...how the shit are we gonna do this?" He aloud, hearing himself think while waiting for some kind of opening. Or, barring that, for an idea to hit him.

The girl's sudden dash seemed to almost catch the duo off guard, the man's shot going wide as she dashed towards him with a speed he hadn't seen in sometime, but ever the professional the man lunged to one side as well, letting the gun itself block her lunge at the hand while he brought his other up around her other arm, attempting to pin her in a grapple while her blade met his steel.

The second guard simply focused his shotgun on the both of them, useless with the close range of the attacker and his fellow soldier, instead the man continued to call for back up, now almost in shock at the two fighter's speed.

Their discussion about what to do was interrupted by the blare of an alarm coming from one of the barracks inside the base, which sent around a dozen men storming out of the building and looking off to the south.
From the warehouse area a pair of snowmobile vehicles seemed to dart out the men aboard them heading south at high speed and, if he focused the scope on them, a mixture of worry and aggression.

Either way as they watched it seemed that everyone's attention, from the guards in the guard towers, to some of the men behind the gates, was to the south.

At first he was going to say that was a stupid idea. I mean, for one this was all permafrost. Let alone the snow all around them that'd reflect the flash of light pokeballs give off...but then the scream of the alarm going off along with those trips made him think otherwise, considering the fact they didn't have long to work with and no better ideas were coming up.

"That's just stupid enough to work!" But how...

Well he had one pokemon powerful enough to bore through the permafrost, his steelix. So that was on issue down, now they just needed the deal with getting it out unseen. For that he also had an idea which involved him tugging Zera down into the gully. Reading his mind, his froslass and haunter both detaching from his form and phased into existence beside him.

"Freeze over the top of this gully, froslass. Haunter, use telekinese and bury the newly formed roof with some of this snow lying around. And be fast about it." He hissed, as if the guards would somehow hear him all the way out here.

The two pokemon went to work, froslass using icebeam to form a convex layer of ice to cap a 12 meter stretch of the gully where the hills shielded them from the view of the base, just incase any of the guards were still on the wall and watching. The translucent ice was then covered up by haunter so the flash of his steelix being sent out would be contained.

Which is exactly what he did after 10 or so terse moments, releasing the steel serpent in the trench about the same time the guard had mobilized and left. "We need a tunnel into that base to the west, just like in celadon. Can you do that?" Holt asked steelix, who grunted once in affirmation before burrowing down through the floor of the gully.

"Lets go!" He said and followed it through the tunnel once it had made progress, motioning for Zera to follow.

The going was slow but uneventful, the masked man was glad of that. Who'd be crazy enough to try something like this? Well, other than him, but it seems he wasn't so renowned anyone had thought to take precaution in case of his arrival. Steelix was instructed to head for the sounds of the generators humming, the hope being that the noise of the machinery would silence their own approach from below. A gut feeling told him what the distraction was likely to be, but he didn't think too much about it now as the excitement of the battle ahead came over him. Before Zera and himself knew it the serpent had ferried them right below the foundation of the building, a few feet of concrete all that stood between them and the base in proper.

Holt unslung his Bizon and palmed a flashbang in his off hand, motioning for Zera to do the same while he got ready. Then with a nod his steelix smashed its head through the floor to make an entrance. At that very second Holt chucked the grenade up into the room to stun anyone left to guard it, then once it went off, he'd barrel up the pokemon using its rigid body as a makeshift set of stairs. The grunt did not stop once he was clear of the hole, immediately finding cover and putting himself behind it before raising his gun to sweep the room.

Anyone he saw would be shot, suppressing them while Zera made his way up second and his pokemon third.

The cement erupted upwards in a sudden explosion of dust and stone causing the engineer in the room to jump back and scream for the guards before fleeing, it seemed they had popped up in what looked to be the storage area of one of the buildings, the hum of the generator the next room over barely drowning out their voices.

It was a mere few minutes later that the patrol drove up the men jumping off and walking over to him casually nodding in the direction of the girl and the other two downed men before saluting and walking over to each of them to recover the bodies.

The scene was almost one of boredom as they began recovering the bodies, that is until the radio suddenly cracked on with a sound of alarm from the base, causing the men to curse a bit and rush to load them on.

Another opportunity struck, as well as another chance at an unpredictable attack.
The body suddenly came to life while the men were busy and in a rush to load the bodies, so sakuri took advantage by pointing one of her hands and causing the gas tank for one of snowmobile or trucks, (or whatever they may have used to arrive to their present location) to burst in flames and explode in the process.

The men didn't know what hit him, the fire spell smashing directly into the gas tank of the vehicle causing the entire vehicle to light up in a small explosion knocked two of the men backwards several feet into the icy ground, one of them now covered in flames, and the second looking completely down for the count.

The surviving uninjured person turned around to face her with an expression of shock that soon turned into anger, the man not even bothering to bring his gun up this time, drawing a knife instead and rushing her, while the fourth, the one who had brought her down in the first place, seemed to just stand there with a dazed expression.

The fourth group itself had stopped further back, the men in it debating on if to return to the base or reinforce the patrol facing this suddenly revived enemy.

Holt ran the FUCK out of that room. Not just because they were in a hurry either, no, it was because Zera set the goddamn thing on fire. In the maintenance room, if that wasn't bad enough. Seems the guards had the same idea, peeking in to start plinking off rounds at him in return. Luckily the shock of their entry hadn't worn off yet, leaving their accuracy wanting.

Holt didn't stop moving, bolting from one corner of the room to the other, using the machinery as cover. He motioned for Zera to stay put while he moved to flank the two guards...and get the hell away from the smouldering adjacent part of the building he just fled. Son of a bitch.

The masked man pressed his back to a shelf and aimed around the side to snap off a few shots at the pair of soldiers once he'd got into a good position to aim at their flanks. His pokemon, who had followed along with him, opened fire too with an ice beam and shadow ball respectively.

In this case Haunter was aiming at the one retreating, while froslass and himself aimed at the guard trying to pin them down.

The attacks went wide again, the drone moving aside from the blow before lashing out with a close range slash at the rushing Zegen. the pokemon themselves poured their focus on the special ops members.

The grass types, still trying to avoid the mass of attacks from the fire type, kept up their fire power, one of the larger one suddenly charging up in the background as the chaotic battle continued.

The two soon found themselves in what looked liked the generator room itself, several of the machines humming away loudly. The guards had taken position behind them as they had burst through from the small inferno now raging in the he small storeroom completely in flames. The sudden BANG of a small explosion behind them shaking the room moderately another Bang of something else cooking off sounding behind them even through the hum of the generators.

Holt's gunfire reflected and bounced off most of the machinery but still managed to send one guard tumbling down from the wounds, the second one ending it's fire before tossing down a smoke bomb, attempting to drag it's second member back from the room. The thunderbolt impacted into the last remaining grass type attacker, taking it down quickly and suddenly leaving the firing line clear, Zegen's counter attack broke right through the thing's armor sending it into the crates and down to the ground in pieces, the damage from before already having weakened it.
The specials ops weren't as lucky the two that hard bounced ahead still putting up a fight despite being the only survivors left in the force.

It wasn't much of a walk before Varnock made it to one of the docks along the forest side, the treeline revealing quite a few small houses and buildings, as well as the flash of what looked like a scope, that quickly vanished.
The waters around the dock were filled with what seemed to be Magikarp and Barbroach, neither which seemed to have any interest in starting something.

There were quite a few boats at dock though, most of them apparently simple fishing boats but a couple of the larger ones looked almost like a type of patrol boat, which, at the moment, was just as empty as everywhere else.

Further in he could hear the noise of the awakening bug types, as well as the noise of vehicles from the town itself. He also sensed that he was being watched.

The door was stuck fast at first, the thawing ice having frozen around the entrance a long time ago, resulting in the reason behind it's disuse from the beginning, but a couple heavy slams against it by the grunt shoved the door right open into the air, almost causing the man to topple into the roadway. The position was very exposed as it could be seen but for now everyone who wasn't still looking to the south was looking towards the front entrance.

Around them they could only spot one other door, the one to the larger building that seemed to be the command post. It would take a good 15 seconds to reach it at a full sprint but it seemed that at the moment they had the element of surprise, the smoke from the bomb and the ever spreading fire, blocking them from view... but for how long.

If nothing else, he reasoned doing so would further distract and disorientate the troops moving around the base. Supposing luck was on their side, making the whole place combust might also wound anyone going in thinking they're still inside. To keep up that appearance he shot into the building, aim obscured heavily by the smoke. Then once Zera had followed with the plan, he'd rush for the command post's entrance as fast as possible.

The feeling faded the further he got from the dock, but as the ghost began trailing along it soon also began to sense the same feeling that, somehow, someone was watching him.

The town itself wasn't much to look at from a distance, just a typical Russian town with a mix of factories warehouses and other things.
Luckily for Varnock it didn't seem like he wouldn't have to worry about visiting the town itself, a group of military trucks were sitting straight ahead of him in front of what looked like some sort of gas station from the distance... The trucks were big, heavy, and were obviously carrying something of importance, but was it all he wanted or was there more.

The ghost's search would take him further and further up the shoreline towards a series of buildings, the flash of light coming from the balcony of one of them where a single figure looked out over the water.

The men were luckily buying something just inside leaving just a single man in the passenger cab of the second one. The bored looking soldier merely smoking and watching the road ahead of him with an expression of boredom. The trucks themselves were the simple standard heavy truck of the Russian military and, if Varnock took a look in the back of one of them, he would mostly find it filled with what looked to be a bunch of unmarked lightweight boxes. Dozens of them, all arranged in stacks of three by three and all looking well sealed up.
The second truck was filled with other boxes and cans of fuel. Both trucks seemed to be mere supply trucks, but for them to act this casual they had to be pretty close to home.

The search was put off by the sound of the soldiers exiting the store with a bang of the door, if Varnock wanted to sneak on, he'd have to find some way to squeeze in between the boxes, or sneak after them while trying to find out where they were going.

The other Varnock soon traced the feeling towards a balcony of what looked to be a large home or apartment building, a strange elderly man gazing at him oddly through a pair of binoculars while another person stared at him, saying something to the first man with an expression of anger. Neither looked to be a threat or armed, but he wouldn't know unless he got close.

And without much of an effort the final two opponents were taken down, leaving the debris strewn room silent for now. It had been a tough fight yet somehow they made it through.

The surrounding doors were still shut tight with the exception of the single door that now laid right past the ruined ambush point, apparently another control room.

But if it was a control room, they would have to make sure they could heal up first, which, depending on this place, there could be an infirmary of some kind eventually.

The team could all use a rest stop, especially the stars of Mike's team. Samus was barely on her feet, the Blaziken still having damage lingering from the last fight's explosion. ...At least she had the time. Paula couldn't take that long to rest; she had work to do. She'd have to fix Zegen up before they moved on, first employing psychokinesis to put his blood back in, and then breaking out Mike's first aid kit to stitch him up once that was complete. The inaccurate gunfire failed to do much to the machinery but sent a flurry of ricochet shots around the room, the guards already tossing in more smoke in an attempt to flush them out for another ambush.
Zera's attempt at the room was a little better, his dash to the machines, despite him kicking a storeroom door open as well, made it easy to light up the room, that is if the grunts already trying to pour into the room, already wearing gas masks, said otherwise.

The spell went off without a hitch, and, now that he looked at it, would seem rather wasted as the guards got into the cabs of the trucks and started the engines. He would hear a few words from each of them as the spoke into the radios, from the tone it sounded like both of them were trying to bullshit the radio operator, guess it was an unscheduled stop. Either way they were soon a rolling along towards wherever the destination was.

As the other Varn reached the balcony the first man could finally be heard saying something in Russian to the second man, pointing and laughing like it was the funniest thing he saw all day, the second man kept arguing back and pointing before reaching for his pokeball. From inside it sounded like another disruption was happening as well the closer he got in proxmity to the place. How odd.

The first grenade detonated dead center over the primary generator, causing it to explode in a shower of sparks and parts that turned the entire room into a death trap of fire and metal, Zera's own grenade barely adding insult to injury. Still though now they were outside and exposed to the air and the base itself, and, despite the fact that the lights in the camp suddenly went out at once, they were still very much exposed in the yard, their only hope was to get to the bigger building a mere 15 feet away, and hope that the enemy didn't managed to get a lock on them before hand.

The second man rolled his eyes before clicking the pokeball open and revealing a Hoothoot.
"Yes, now get the ghost!!!!" said the first man causing the second to roll his eyes before muttering, "Arceus Give me strength." before ordering the owl to use foresight to prove the old dotter wrong yet again.

The trucks went on for some time, taking Varnock to the very edge of his connection with his counterpart, the vehicles soon stopping outside a camp just outside of town.

The trucks were quickly stopped by the gate the guards up front being questioned by the gate guards who seemed to be questioning what took the men so long. This chain of arguments continued on for sometime before finally the trucks were waved through, one heading off in one direction while Varnock's headed of into another.

The Base itself, or what Varnock could see now that he was inside, was apparently some sort of training base, and, seeing from the chainlink fence and guard post, it had been here for quite awhile, the sounds of marching troops and shouting seeming to sound from various locations while the hum of a chopper flew overhead, it seemed to be quite an operation here, he'd have to be careful not to be noticed by anyone.

Varnock himself began walking through the place carefully listening and looking for any sign of his target after casting his own language spell. Because, now, he was running across an open field with every guard in the base looking for them. Wonderful. A wash of relief ran over him as the base's lights went out, an explosion and draft of heat from the way they came meaning the power was thoroughly cut. Best news since they got here. The grunt ran pedal to the metal across the courtyard, snow crunching under his boots at a furious rapidity.

'Come on come on come on...' He repeated like a mantra in his mind, form of the HQ closing quickly. Raising a hand in confusion he blinked, red. His eyes traced that to his arm which was bleeding lightly, coat torn. Seems he got tagged from those shots bouncing around in the generator room...oh well, he'd deal with it later. The more pressing concern was the realization that the door up ahead was probably barred the moment the alarm went off. So then he'd have to do some trailblazing.

While running he noted a parked snowmobile out front of the command post, deciding that would be good enough and running for it while pulling his chicken sickle from its sheath. He put on another burst of speed for the last few yards and kicked off the vehicle to jump, rearing back and hooking his weapon into the gutter on the HQ's roof. His toes were dug into the concrete siding like a child climbing a tree, lung upwards and hurling himself over the lip, bracing for the impending shatter of glass he'd go through bodily. With a tumble, the masked one would likely land in the brass's command center. Since his blade was already out he'd rush into melee, hacking whoever was closest and staying engaged to make shooting him impossible.

After all, the men in here WEREN'T expendable!

The Masked Grunt's unorthodox attack caught the people upstairs off guard, the reflective glass shattering inwards to a small scientific looking conference room where a group of four gentlemen were standing and sitting, two seemed to be scientists who promptly dove for the ground cowering while the final two appeared to either be officers or higher ranking guards who tried to dive for cover and return fire with their side arms, however one wasn't swift enough one taking several rounds to the unvested chest and going down hard, while the other made potshots from behind the desk, cornered in one part of the room.

On the wall he was lucky enough to find a nice layout of the place it seemed, could prove useful.

Upon breaking into the room Holt sized the area up in a second, scoping out the hostiles and good spots for cover in the ensuing fight. All this was done while he launched himself forward and hacked at the two officers, felling one while the other managed to escape behind a piece of furniture. The rocket mimicked the officer's actions, diving to the side behind a desk while a bullet thudded hard into the armor over his chest, turning his maneuver into more of a controlled fall.

All the same this did clear the air for his two ghosts, whom followed up behind him right about now. "Froslass, flush out the guard. Haunter, capture the scientists!" He bellowed to the two levitating pokemon. Haunter, having the easier job, went ahead and used telekinesis to pin down the two noncombatants, holding them down somewhere out of the firing lanes. The icy ghost, on the other hand, floated right through the room, passing through the barriers effortlessly and rushing behind cover to spook out the soldier who remained wounded.

It pointed a finger at him and launched a beam of cold energy at the opponent, seeking to freeze him if it hit, or just make him run if not. Regardless, Holt would rush to meet him once froslass had attacked and tied up his attentions; icy blade coated in dark red and reared back to strike for the center of mass the very second he was exposed.

The Ghost's attempt at escape wasn't too well, but even as he was exposed it didn't prevent him from trying to move through the walls, and basically wandering into a giant mess as he ended up in the room with several people who stared right at him without a single expression of reaction along with a nurse who acted a little more normally, as in she screamed and sent out an Audino, which moved in between the patients and him in a vain attempt to look threatening.

From outside the two old men were laughing their asses off apparently the bird itself following in through the open door.

The camp itself was easy to get around in, and rather large, from training fields to firing lanes, to driving fields, to warehouses, the place looked almost to be the size of Celadon. Locating the fragments would prove difficult but there had to be plenty of places they weren't.

The knife was switched over to the right as the man pulled the blade back while he awaited the blast to end, figuring the intruder would hit the moment it ended, and, as the beam cut off he reared back with the blade out, quickly feinting a leftward lunge as well as kicking the frozen table dead center and into the grunt's knees in the intent to topple him, almost in the same few seconds he swerved to avoid the central strike before bringing the knife and pistol down onto the tool itself, pinning the center of the blade between them both as he attempted to slam the weapon into the floor below him, using the table remains to keep the point away from him as he grappled for control.

The Officer stared at the Masked Grunt carefully trying to read the man even as he made his next move, If Holt had caught the expression of the other man he'd see an almost joyful grin on his opponent as he adjusted the knife a little tighter against the blade, adjusting the blade a little more until it's hilt was facing the grunt before clicking his thumb against it, Holt, if he knew anything of what he was up against, would realize very quickly what kind of knife it was.

The shot took down the second guard behind the desk, the bear lumbering backwards bleeding tremendously from the severe wound falling down for a moment and buying them a little breathing room before lunching for the other pokemon again claws out. The final remaining guard kept to cover instead deciding his life was worth more than his job and taking advantage of the fact that the sounds outside showed that their abrupt entrance was noticed. Luckily for Zera though, Holt's was proving far more distracting to the enemy. Either way he'd have to rush in quickly or bar the door behind him if he wanted to make good time. A quick search through the front room would reveal the front desk as well as a small file cabinet.

The ice type floated back with a displeased frown at having to face down another pokemon, as opposed to tag teaming the officer. Just the same, she effortlessly floated above it to avoid the incoming bite, firing another ice beam down at the pesky mutt to try and take it out early.

Its master on the other hand had a much rougher time of things, this guy was good. Sadly this same table trick was one Holt had used a dozen times before, so when he saw the man pulling back a leg, he immediately recognized the trick and leaped clear over it like a hurdle. However, this still left him open to the hostile's next move; blade clanging against the floor as both of his hands were used to pin it, making the grunt growl in annoyance.

The rocket was sharp though, he noticed right away something was up with the knife. Expecting a trick, and needing to free his weapon, the time the soldier was using to ready his hidden attack was countered by Holt giving him a swift boot to the chest. The man thus unbalanced, he managed to dodge to the side just in time for the bullet to scream past and into the wall behind him. Half expecting a ballistic knife, the concealed gun caught him by surprise. Either way, he tried to wrench his sickle off the ground and, if successful, would immediately hook it around the officer's leg and try to trip him - if not hack it off.

Haunter, seeing the scientist go for a pokeball, immediately nopes that and rips it out of his hand with telekinesis...and then rams both their heads together to knock them out since it can't miss.

The fire attack went wide as the bear swerved aside, the flame's heat also driving the bullet off balance to slame into the wall over the desk, causing the soldier under it to cower deeper. The bear itself simply growled back and tried to shove through it again, attempting to Slam into the dog this time around. The officer groaned in pain as the kick slammed into him, knocking him back as the shot went wide and allowing the grunt to pull the blade free again. He growled and gritted despite the frustration and pain and attempted to counter even as the blade itself slashed into his leg, the heavy boot being the sole reason behind preventing an undue amputation.

Both actions resulted in the officer making an impromptu hastily done backflip over the ground itself, the man, tossing his hands back instinctively as he rolled back, regaining some control as he fell back several feet, rolling to a stop at one knee grunting a little in pain as the blood trickled down the wounded leg. He looked at the man even as he nodded to his pokemon to attack again, glancing around the room at the scene, sizing up the situation even as from behind, a bit of gunfire laced into the window well away from him. He took stock in his situation and soon found that in the attack and evasion he had left his pistol behind him on the floor. The man glanced at the fallen weapon and then glanced over beside him, spotting the dead body of his fellow officer a mere few feet away, and his unfired pistol.
Holding the now fired knife in one hand he took a fighting stance after a moment, while making split second glances towards still unfired pistol, giving the Russian equivalent to "not bad" to the grunt in response.

Behind him his loyal pokemon rushed forwards for another bite while the scientist responded by pulling out something else instead.

From the door outside something was suddenly chunked at EOV, apparently some kind of rock. The two pokemon glancing at the two old men who were still chuckling at the reaction of everyone else.

Varnock could see that aside from the training camp there were also several other buildings, the trucks themselves parked outside the garage area which, after walking some distance away from would lead him to the base road, which gave him a good look over the place.

From where he was standing now, dead center, he could see the base was split off into four areas, the area he had just left was clearly the motor pool and barracks area, containing all the infantry resting places as well at the machine and repair shops. Across the street Varnock could spot what appeared to be the training field, firing lines, mortar, fields, and obstacle courses covering the area along with vehicles and plenty of obvious recruits.

To the north of him was the Administration area a series of office buildings, radio towers, and a radar station giving a good indication about what went on there. It also looked heavily guarded, guards and security cameras covering the entrances and exits to the building.
The last remaining part of the base was a series of storehouses and storage area that stretched out quite a distance as well, fuel areas, Factory sized buildings, even an area for a pair of helicopter landing pads as well. It too was also guarded fairly hard, some of the buildings having a patrol pass by every few minutes, while others had some less than obvious security cameras.

Either way the place was huge.

His blade was coated in blood, gleaming ice all but dulled, dripping the vital fluids onto the floor in deepening puddles. He stared back at the soldier, noting where his eyes were going. While doing this he also noticed the cocky scientist had pulled a grenade, which made him scowl.

"Son of a bitch!" He exclaimed, anger raising even more as froslass was bitten super effectively. "Damn it, switch it up!"

Haunter broke away from the scientists and headed for the granbull, while froslass went to deal with the asshole who was know holding a bomb. Fortunately, she'd been with Holt long enough to know his thought process...in this case 'when in doubt, use ice.' With the last round of telekinesis in play, she went ahead and fired a third and probably final ice beam at the scientist. Or, more specifically, his hand. If the bastard wanted to play dead man, they'd just get creative to fix his wagon. Meanwhile, Haunter would go ahead and nail the granbull with disable to cripple its anti-ghost capabilities.

"You're pretty good." Holt told the brass, taking a fighting position of his own, one that sought to use the advantage of reach his weapon had over a knife. Sadly, the grunt was a combat pragmatist above all. With the sickle in one hand he quickly drew the sidearm HE still had and snapped off two shots at the soldier before he could dive for a firearm to use back.

She thought to herself with disappointment.

The man had watched the grunt closely as he watched the battle unfold keeping his knife at the ready as he studied his opponent's every move, sizing him up, waiting for the moment, and as Holt moved for his own side arm the man attempted to strike as well, flinging the knife at him as he dove for the gun, but reaching it far too late as the two rounds sliced into the man's body, his own hand firing the gun wildly as he crumpled over the other dead officer. A slight gasp coming him and another "Not bad Comrade." before the man fell still.

Once again the two attacks failed to connect, the bear attempting one more time to slam into them even as the guards took position outside the exit door. If Zera kept trying to trade blows with the Bear much longer he was just going to get himself shot up instead.

The attempt on the gas tank was a difficult shot from the placement, but either way it was effective none the less on the unprotected gunners and the vehicle's engine itself, both catching alight causing them to bail the vehicle, the soldiers diving out from each side as the thing went up but did succeed on at least setting the vehicle, and gunner, on fire. Despite the fate of it's owners the pokemon themselves stuck to their prior orders, and with their masters either dead or in no state to order differently, they flew into a rage and rushed her.

With the situation in such chaos another two vehicles sped out of the base, one an unarmored truck that began speeding away to the north while the other was a wheeled APC which turned towards her direction.

It wasn't hard to get near either of them, the invisibly spell and the ghostliness made it near impossible for any of the humans to see them, well the humans that is, one couldn't be sure about the many security cameras that were panning back and forth over the main building and four of the eight almost hanger sized warehouses.

Either way there appeared to be two main entrances to the Admin building, a well guarded front door and a well guarded side door, along with a singular helicopter pad on the roof. Each entrance was monitored by at least one camera that would pan back and forth every 20 seconds.

The warehouses were a little easier though, the 4 cameras giving enough time to pass through the area easily and the patrols, well at least the outside ones, lacking anything that appeared to be a psychic or ghost type that could detect him.

It would seem luck was with the rocket today, both the knife and the bullets sailing past him in those few terse moments that could make or break a fight. He sighed, watching his foe slump down. Always a shame when it comes to that, but it was one or the other, and he had a job here to do.

The sounds of fighting intensifying reached him easily, and a quick peek outside showed a likewise grim scene as more soldiers poured out around the base. It was certainly time to go. He even got on his radio and turned it to Zera's frequency. "Get the fuck out of here now, they're going to pen us in." He said, looking over the map on the wall while his pokemon suppressed the scientists and granbull left over. "There! South side of the base, big storehouse."

With time of the essence he chucked down a smoke bomb, obscuring the entire command center in inky, black clouds to escape. For the troops forming a net he had a different plan, he and froslass both hurling tear gas grenades into the soldiers to break them up...and because its been ages since he used those things for real. Damn shame.

Then the three of them fled right out the windows the way they came, using the snow to break the fall of the only non ghost in the group. The run to the warehouse would be tricky, but he had an idea.

The ones further in the building seemed to arrive right as Zera burst out into the group of guards, who, at the time, weren't expecting such an agressive counter, the men scattering as the grenade was tossed down, the ones who didn't going down hard as well as the shrapnel tore into them. The stab lands dead center the unusual force behind the blow caving in and even shattering the poor bear's skull completely in explosion of blood, brain matter, and bone as the sheer force slammed into the weak body. The force was enough to propel the now headless body backwards, the corpse landing on the ground several feet away the force itself also smashing into the second one, sending it flying back as well to land with a very audiable crack on the ground of a breaking bone as it too went to lie still.

The scene was one that caused the surving men to shudder at the almost inhuman strength the girl seemed to show in close combat. The men fleeing back as the armored vehicle locked on to her and without even bothering to flinch opened up on her with it's Turret.

The blackness of the comand roomed blinded the potential reinforcements who were attempting to now gain entry to the conference room. The grunt's timing was also impeccable for right as the soldiers began to regroup after Zera his own grenades hit causing the unprotected ones to fall back while the masked ones, tried to move free of the obscuring vapors. In the massive chaos of the fighting inside and outside of the base, the sound of him hitting the ground was barely notable and so as he began to pour forth more smoke bombs into the area the guards, now without a commander, were in a disorganized mess. Still it took some careful moving for Holt to get through, the grunt only running into the locked doors after many close calls.

The shot went wild again however it still left the driver being forced to swerve away from the hit before the wheels would lock up, either way they attempted to circle her this time, none of them, passenger, driver, or even pokemon wanting to get anywhere near her.

Of course a few seconds later the vehicle stopped for a moment and then went full reverse, each time laying down a volume of cover fire upon her as they suddenly began to pull back the news of another escapee causing the conflicted orders to begin coming in. Still, some of the ones still out on the field took advantage of the cover to also fall back, some firing potshots at her as they retreated.

Holt's haunter merged back into his form, froslass staying out only because her white kimono blended into their surroundings the same as his arctic camouflage. In essence, both were in their zone skulking about in the snow like this. The masked man stayed low and moved fast from cover to cover wherever it could be found until he finally arrived at the warehouse. All the doors were, unsurprisingly, locked. Hopefully that meant they weren't watching the place in favor of more tactically important parts of the base. But when did he ever get that lucky?

No time to pick locks, he nodded for froslass to do the deed for him. You'd probably be thinking he'd freeze the lock to the point of brittleness to then be kicked open. Normally you'd be right, but since Zera and Sakuri were doing a good job of distracting the already unorganized unit...he went ahead and played smart instead by having her phase through the wall and unlock the door manually; not making a giant racket.

Obstacle thus removed, he slipped right in. After whispering another order to froslass she disappeared, not following him in. Once inside he'd stick to the shelves and racks to conceal himself while looking hurriedly for the rock. Surely it would be hard to hide something that big?

The Grunt's careful maneuvering managed to pry the door carefully open, letting him into the by now, cleared out warehouse.
A quick glance around could show that aside from the central room the place merely had a side office door as it's sole divider, and the room itself was stacked full of building supplies, obviously for expansion plans that they had most likely put indefinitely on hold.
Still some of the crates weren't marked with anything but a very familiar logo that Holt knew well along with the Russian word for "recovered objects".

The ice spells managed to stall out the front wheel and the turret as well, the thing merely shifting again to it's remainder as it trudged forwards a little more. As if in response to it though the hatch up top opened up, the man inside suddenly sending out a Kadabra which fired off a beam of psychic energy at her as they attempted to pull free.

The attack almost seemed to work, almost, for as the blade went home it had barely made entry way before the psychic type's vast mental energy was unleashed on the girl dead center as she was hit by the psychic recoil of the pokemon's mental energy the thing suddenly pinning her in place as the side doors of the vehicle were thrown open, then men inside taking off as the psychic type pinned her down with it's mental energies. Once his voice had carried throughout the whole of the empty building she finally reappeared, having been waiting near the roof to swoop down on any ambushers from above. An unnecessary plan, but one that it certainly didn't hurt to have in waiting. She went to work diligently collecting up the metal from the specially marked boxes. Meanwhile he sent out his abomasnow to do some heavy lifting, wisely asking it to not turn on its snow warning for the time being. It grunted in acceptance and said nothing else, as befitting its gruff nature.

"Go grab an empty crate from over in the corner and bring it here, freeze the front door shut while you're at it." Its trainer ordered, the snowman walking off to do just that. A scant minute later it dropped off a now empty crate for the other ice type to start piling up the metal in for easy removal.

Now left on his own, Holt went ahead and rifled through the rest of the boxes and assorted equipment in here to see if there was anything else worth stealing. Alternatively, in case any other mysterious metal was here that might also be his prize.

Sakuri will attempt to struggle some more and point both hands at the grunt and the pokemon, attempting to fire off several spells their way.

The trip was easy, with the main doors frozen over it didn't look like anyone outside was going to break in, in fact, it was strangely getting quieter out there, it's almost like they had completely forgotten about him. Well almost, "Again?" came the voice from the office, this time from the same lowly engineer who had escaped the first time. The other boxes contained mostly some weapon and food supplies, though there was some more modern Silph equipment that was more upgraded than his own, apparently they weren't that dead without their leadership.

The girl's various attacks, brought down another two soldiers where as the psychic type, while attempting to read and control her mind, was soon rendered catatonic in response the thing going completely limp as it's brain snapped from the backlash effect.

Still it was enough for the soldiers to do what they wanted, which was to get as far away from the vehicle as possible, prepping their grenade launches as they took aim at the vehicle and fired.

From the gate itself a group of snowmobiles sped off after Zera while another group of trucks pulled out as well, another alarm beginning to sound inside the base walls.

Not fast enough however as she gets caught in the explosion
A piece of metal from the vehicle quickly flies through one of her arms, cutting it clean off while another impales itself in her chest, sending her tumbling and rolling on the ground both incredibly injured and decently burned.
Which shouldn't matter since she should have been dead since she was first shot.
"Wow... that was a close call. I was almost taken out of the action"
Moments after she attempts to get up and continue her run for the base and at any grunts that may be running in that general direction.
"Can't stop now, holt's still in there..."

That quiet actually worried him more than the noises of chaos and battle. That meant that they were up to something. Fuck. the three of them double timed it, packing up all the metal and then ripping out the bottom of another crate to put overtop of it, making a quick false bottom. Then the trainer and two pokemon began to pile up other equipment in the rest of the space. Partially done for the purposes of loot, partially to cover up the fact something more valuable was stowed away in case it was found.

How would it be found? Well, along with the goods Holt stuck a pop can-sized metal canister on the crate's top, a small screen lit up on the capsule reading coordinates already configured. A call from someone else in the building made him look up from his work and maskface impassively. "Look, just stay in there if you want to live." Was called out to the engineer, with abomasnow shooing him into the office and closing the door.

Hopefully he was out of visual range or at least distracted enough that he wouldn't notice when Holt pressed the big red button on the cylinder, teleporting the goods off safely to a DZ he had troops on hand to pick up. One in the desert, where they'd never look for him.

The soldiers didn't stay behind for their handy work, some of them grabbing the first truck out of it leaving only the main building, which was rapidly loading up whatever files they had before burning the rest. Getting into the base itself would be hard because aside from the gate itself, which, by now one had lowered again, she'd have to cross the razor wire to get inside.
